Come ogni anno Bastia Umbra è pronta a trasformarsi in teatro a cielo aperto grazie al Palio de San Michele, che quest’anno raggiungerà il traguardo “d’oro” della 50ma edizione, dal 15 al 30 Settembre 2012. E c’è da giurare che i quattro rioni di Bastia (Moncioveta – rosso, Portella – blu, San Rocco – verde e Sant’Angelo – giallo) si daranno battaglia nelle tre sfide di Sfilata, Giochi e Lizza.

Ad aprire il Palio de San Michele 2012, alle ore 09:30 del 15 Settembre 2012, l’incontro con i più piccoli presso il cinema teatro Esperia denominato “Il Palio incontra la Scuola”. Alle 17:30 inaugurazione alla Chiesa Museo Santa Croce della mostra fotografica50 anni di passione“.

Le quattro taverne collocate nel centro storico di Bastia Umbra, dove sarà possibile gustare i piatti tipici della tradizione umbra, saranno in funzione dal 19 Settembre 2012. Le cene saranno arricchite da animazioni, concerti dal vivo e dj fino a tarda notte.

La prima sfida è prevista, come da tradizione in questo Palio, dal 21 al 24 Settembre, dove ogni sera piazza Mazzini ospiterà le Sfilate. Il termine è rimasto lo stesso degli anni ’60, quando dei carri allegorici sfilavano per le piazze. Oggi sono dei veri e propri spettacoli teatrali, portati avanti da centinaia di persone. Il 21 Settembre 2012 tocca al Portella, il 22 al San Rocco, il 23 al Sant’Angelo e, ultimi ma non ultimi, il 24 al Moncioveta. A partire dalle ore 22:00.

Il 26 Settembre 2012 è la giornata dedicata alla seconda sfida, quella dei Giochi. Che saranno quattro: il tiro alla fune; la corsa con il sacco; il palo della cuccagna; “Il muratore”. Dalle 21:30.

L’ultima sfida è prevista per il 28 Settembre 2012, ore 22:30, quando la piazza principale trabocca di gente da ogni angolo. Quattro corridori per rione si confrontano tra palpitazioni e rincorse nella Lizza, una staffetta 4×400 metri. Al termine, in base ai punteggi ottenuti in tutte le prove, viene consegnato al rione vincitore il Palio.

The four taverns located in the center of Bastia Umbra, where you can taste the typical Umbrian dishes, will open September 19th, 2012. The dinners will be enriched with animations, live bands and Djs till late.

The first challenge is planned, as is traditional in this Palio, from September 21st to 24th, where every night Piazza Mazzini host the Sfilate (Parades). The term has remained the same as in the 60s, when the floats paraded through the streets. Today they are some real plays, carried out by hundreds of people. The September 21st, 2012 is up to the Portella, on 22nd San Rocco, 23rd to Sant’Angelo and, last but not least, the 24th to Moncioveta. Starting at 22:00.

The September 26th, 2012 is the day dedicated to the second challenge, that of the Giochi (Games). That will be four: the tug of war; sack race; greasy pole; “Il muratore” (The mason). From 21:30.

The final challenge is scheduled for September 28th, 2012, 22:30 hours, when the main square is full of people from every corner. Four runners for each districts struggle between palpitations and chased in the Lizza, a 4 x 400m relay. At the end, based on the scores obtained in all the challenges, is delivered to the winning district the Palio.
