Il Castello di Ramazzano si trova a qualche chilometro da Perugia, è situato in collina e sovrasta una fertile estensione agricola dai rigogliosi vigneti.

Eretto nel XII secolo dalla famiglia dei Ramazzani, apparterrà alla famiglia dal 1097 fino alla fine del Cinquecento. Nel 1964 il castello passò al conte Giulio Cesare Degli Oddie e nel XVIII secolo ai marchesi Coppoli di Siena. In seguito, appartenne anche a Camillo Pecci, nipote di Leone XIII, ai Presutti e al conte Bennicelli. Quest’ultimo, nel 1931, vi ospitò anche il re Vittorio Emanuele III.

Ramazzano, l’Antico Casale 

Il Castello di Ramazzano è stato restaurato nel corso degli anni e più volte rimaneggiato per adattarlo ai gusti abitativi. Oggi si presenta in buono stato di conservazione, conserva le mura merlate alla guelfa che circonda la fortezza e su cui si eleva una torre a base quadrata. Nel cortile interno è presente un pozzo profondo circa 40 metri, comunicante con le segrete e i sotterranei del palazzo signorile.

All’interno, il palazzo signorile ospita varie sale molto eleganti, impreziosite da soffitti affrescati. E’ presente inoltre la cappella castellana, nella quale sin dal 1113 venivano officiate le messe dai monaci cistercensi della vicina abbazia di Montelabate. 

Custodito oggi come tesoro riconosciuto dai Beni Culturali, il Castello di Ramazzano è emblema della tradizione vitivinicola del territorio, perpetuata e impreziosita dalle Cantine Aliani.

Con il suo suggestivo panorama sulla campagna umbra, la rocca rappresenta un’ottima location per cerimonie, congressi, sale conviviali ed altri eventi.
