Speciale Orvieto classico

Botti del vino di Orvieto, città papale, venivano inviate regolarmente alle mense dei prelati e dei nobiluomini di Roma; e poichè i donativi erano allora mezzi comuni per garantirsi la benevolenza di potenti protettori, la città si preoccupava che la produzione fosse notevole e la qualità del prodotto eccellente.

Uve: (in percentuale decrescente) Trebbiano toscano, (Procanico Biancone) Verdicchio (Verdello) Canaiolo (Trupeccio) Grechetto.

Colore: Giallo dorato chiaro

Sapore: delicato caratteristico di uve infavate, spesso abboccato e talvolta anche amabile (o secco) fresco leggermente amarognolo pieno vellutato.

Alcolicità: 12°

Acidità: 7%

Particolarità: va consumato preferibilmente entro l’annata.

L’Orvieto classico piaceva tanto al Pinturicchio da fargli esigere una sua fornitura senza limitazione nel contratto per i dipinti da eseguirsi nel Duomo; è adatto agli antipasti e su molte minestre i tipi nettamente amabili sono naturalmente da fuori pasto. Servirlo a 10-12°.

Grapes: (in decreasing percentage) Trebbiano toscano, (Procanico Biancone) Verdicchio (Verdello) Canaiolo (Trupeccio) Grechetto.

Color: Yellow glazed clear

Taste: delicate characteristic of grapes infavate, often mellow and sometimes also dry fresh slightly bitter full velvety.

Alcohol content: 12°

Acidity: 7%

Places of production: Orvieto Ficulle Allerona Alviano Lugnano in Teverina and other districts.

Particularity: better if drunk in the year. The Pinturicchio was liking so much the Orvieto classico that he was pretending a delivering without limitation in the contract for the paintings to be executed in the Cathedral; it is adapted to entrées and on a lot of soups, the kinds clearly bitter are naturally to be drunk out of the meal. To be served at 10-12° C.
