Il Trasimeno Music Festival 2012 si svolgerà dal 30 Giugno al 6 Luglio 2012 tra il Castello del Sovrano Militare Ordine di Malta a Magione (PG), il Teatro del Pavone di Perugia e la Chiesa di San Domenico a Gubbio (PG).

Il Festival diretto dalla canadese Angela Hewitt, considerata la più grande interprete vivente di Bach al pianoforte, giunge quest’anno all’8a edizione. Con grandi ospiti per le 7 serate previste (il recital inaugurale, solo piano, è già sold-out ndr):

  • l’Orchestra della Toscana diretta dal sudafricano Gérard Korsten;
  • il violinista finlandese Pekka Kuusisto;
  • il mezzo-soprano svedese Anne Sofie von Otter;
  • l’Australian String Quartet;
  • il Quartetto di Cremona.

Oltre alle esibizioni vere e proprie, ci saranno altri 3 appuntamenti. 2 dibattiti pre-concerto con gli artisti che si terranno il 2 Luglio 2012 (con Pekka Kuusisto e Angela Hewitt) ed il 3 Luglio 2012 (Australian String Quartet ed il Quartetto di Cremona), a partire dalle ore 20:30 ed a cura di Samuel C. Dixon.
Mercoledì 4 luglio 2012 ore 16.00 presso la Sala Raffaello dell’Hotel Brufani Palace di Perugia verrà presentato per la prima volta in Europa il docufilm in inglese sul Concorso Pianistico Internazionale di Bach del 1985 a Toronto vinto dalla Hewitt. Ingresso gratuito.

The Festival directed by the Canadian Angela Hewitt, considered the greatest living interpreter of Bach on the piano, reachest this year the 8th edition. With great guests for the 7 nights planned (the Opening Concert, solo piano, is already sold-out ed):

  • the Orchestra della Toscana directed by the South African Gérard Korsten;
  • the Finnish violinist Pekka Kuusisto;
  • the Swedish mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter;
  • the Australian String Quartet;
  • the Quartetto di Cremona.

In addition to the performances themselves, there will be 3 more appointments. Two pre-concert discussion with the artists that will be held July 2nd, 2012 (with Pekka Kuusisto and Angela Hewitt) and July 3rd, 2012 (Australian String Quartet and Quartetto di Cremona), starting at 20:30 with Samuel C. Dixon as facilitator.
Wednesday, July 4th, 2012 at 16:00 at the Sala Raffaello of the Hotel Brufani Palace in Perugia will be presented for the first time in Europe the documentary film in English on the 1985 Toronto International Bach Piano Competition won by the Hewitt. Free admission.
