Dopo Madama Buttefly, anteprima della Stagione messa in scena dall’Orchestra e dal Coro del Teatro Lirico Sperimentale di Spoleto il 1° Ottobre 2011, e dopo lo spettacolo fuori abbonamentoMamma mia! di Catherine Johanson, musical ed anteprima del progetto “FESTA DELLA CREATIVITA’ – AMATEATRO”, realizzata dalla compagnia Mastro Titta, l’apertura ufficiale della Stagione 2011/2012 del Teatro Mancinelli sarà affidata ad Edipo, con Paola GassmanEdoardo Siravo e la partecipazione straordinaria di Luciano Virgilio, mentre adattamento e regia sono firmati da Maurizio Panici. Il 29 Ottobre 2011 dalle ore 21.
Presentato da Tuscia Film Fest, sarà poi ospite del teatro di Orvieto Toni Servillo in Toni Servillo legge Napoli, un excursus attraverso gli scritti di poeti e grandi uomini di teatro in una lingua estremamente viva. Martedì 1° Novembre 2011, ore 18.

Sabato 3 Dicembre 2011, ore 18, il vincitore della Palma d’Oro al Festival di Cannes nel 2010,Elio Germano, torna a calcare le scene con il monologo Thom Pain (Basato sul niente) di Will Eno, finalista nel 2005 del Premio Pulitzer per la sezione Teatro. Traduzione di Noemi Abe, regia di Elio Germano in collaborazione con Silvio Peroni.

Dopo anni di assenza, per lo spettacolo conclusivo della Stagione Teatrale 2011-2012 del Mancinelli, 14 (ore 21) e 15 Aprile (ore 172012Emma Dante si ripresenterà al Mancinelli con lo spettacolo da lei scritto e diretto La trilogia degli occhiali, composto da tre capitoli autonomi ma legati da temi comuni come la povertà, la malattia, la vecchiaia.

Per gli amanti della danza la Stagione propone il Ballet de Cuba in Havana de Hoy (Giovedì 8 Dicembre ore 18), il balletto classico Giselle nell’interpretazione della celebre e prestigiosa formazione Slovak National Theatre (Venerdì 6 Gennaio 2012 ore 21). Seguono il Balletto di Roma protagonista di Contemporary Tango (Sabato 4 Febbraio 2012 ore 21), mentre la Compagnia Mvula Sungani, capitanata da Emanuela Bianchini, presenta Italia, la mia Africa (Domenica 26 Febbraio 2012 ore 18).

Negli appuntamenti fuori abbonamento spazio anche al balletto classico con Il lago dei cigni presentato dal Rostov State Opera Ballet (Sabato 21 Gennaio 2012 ore 21) e due grandi appuntamenti con il cabaret: Maurizio Battista con Il mio secondo matrimonio (Sabato 11 Febbraio 2012 ore 21) e l’imperdibile Serata Zelig con gli Emo, il Signor Verducci e Rocco il gigolò (Sabato 10 Marzo 2012 ore 21).
