Il Duomo di Orvieto (TR) si appresta ad ospitare la Suffolk Youth Orchestra, orchestra inglese composta da ragazzi prodigio tra i 14 ed i 24 anni, per Omaggio all’Umbria 2012, 7a edizione.
Il concerto, progetto speciale del Ministero dei Beni Culturali, è compreso nel calendario del Festival Assisi nel Mondo 2012, dal 2008 dedicato all’Unicef per l’assistenza dei bambini nel mondo.

100 sono i membri dell’Orchestra diretta da Philip Shaw, che il 27 Luglio 2012 si esibiranno in:

  • Dimitri Shostakovich – Festival Ouverture op.96 (1906-1976);
  • Gustav Holst – A Somerset Rhapsody op.21 (1874-1934);
  • Arthur Sullivan Ballet Suite: Pineapple Poll (1842-1900);
  • Edward Elgar – Variations on an Original Theme op.36 (1857-1934).

Il concerto inizierà alle ore 17:00 e sarà ad ingresso libero.
