Monteleone di Spoleto si appresta a far rivivere le proprie origini e le proprie tradizioni grazie alla Mostra Mercato del Farro DOP e dei Prodotti Tipici della Montagna. Dal 5 al 9 Dicembre 2012.

La manifestazione si divide in 2 mini-eventi:

  1. il 5 e 6 Dicembre 2012Tra Rito & Mito”, con la benedizione del farro (a Monteleone di Spoleto si coltiva il più pregiato delle 3 varietà esistenti, il “Triticum dicoccum“) e la distribuzione a tutta la popolazione da parte del Parroco della Parrocchia (venerdì 5 Novembre ore 12:00), e le celebrazioni in onore di San Nicola, Santo Patrono del borgo (6 Dicembre, ore 12:00 Messa solenne in onore del Santo Patrono San Nicola, presso la Chiesa di San Nicola. Ore 20:00 Cena dei “Capofamiglia”, un rituale che affonda le sue radici nella notte dei tempi);
  2. Emozioni e Gusto ad Alta Quota” nei giorni 7, 8 e 9 Dicembre 2012, la vera e propria Mostra Mercato. Che verrà inaugurata, alla presenza delle autorità e con il concerto itinerante del Corpo Bandistico “C. Innocenzi”, venerdì 7 Dicembre 2012 alle ore 16:00.
    Gli stand saranno visitabili dalle ore 09:00 nei giorni 8 e 9 Dicembre 2012.

Alla Mostra Mercato del Farro DOP e dei Prodotti Tipici della Montagna 2012 di Monteleone di Spoleto troverete inoltre degustazioni, escursioni a piedi e viaggi nella natura e nelle aziende produttrici di farro e dei prodotti tipici della montagna, visite guidate ai monumenti della città, cooking show, le Taverne dei Terzieri (aperte nei giorni 8 e 9, dalle ore 12:00 e dalle ore 19:00, prezzo dei menù € 20,00), il Concorso Culinario, aperto a tutti, “Menù a base di farro”, con il vincitore che presenterà il suo menù alle ore 19:00 di Sabato 8 Dicembre 2012, in una serata promossa dall’Università dei Sapori di Perugia , e condotta dalla giornalista e scrittrice enogastronoma dott.ssa Marilena Badolato (diretta RAI3 – rubrica “Il Settimanale”).

A concludere la kermesse un altro appuntamento tradizionale legato all’agricoltura ed alla religione, tipico dei borghi della Valnerina: il Focone della Venuta, accensione di un grande fuoco a salutare il passaggio della Madonna di Loreto. Intorno al fuoco si riunisce tutto il paese, tra le note del Corpo bandistico “C. Innocenzi” ed il consumo di cibo e bevande. 9 Dicembre 2012, a partire dalle ore 21:00.

  1. on December 5th and 6th, 2012Tra Rito & Mito” (“Between Rite & Myth”), with the blessing of the farro (in Monteleone di Spoleto is cultivated the most valuable of the three existing varieties, the “Triticum dicoccum“) and its distribution to the entire population by the Pastor of the Parish (Friday, November 5th at 12:00), and the celebrations in honor of San Nicola (St. Nicholas), Patron Saint of the Village (November 6th, 12:00 am Mass in honor of the Patron Saint Nicholas, at the Church of San Nicola. At 20:00 Cena dei “Capofamiglia”, i.e. Dinner of the Heads of the household, a ritual that has its roots in the mists of time);
  2. Emozioni e Gusto ad Alta Quota” (“Emotions and Taste at High Altitude“) on December 7th, 8th and 9th, 2012, the true and proper Market-Exhibition. Which will be inaugurated, in the presence of the authorities and with the travelling concert by the “C. Innocenzi” town’s musical band, Friday, December 7th, 2012 at 16:00.

At the 2012 Mostra Mercato del Farro DOP e dei Prodotti Tipici della Montagna of Monteleone di Spoleto there is also tastings, hiking and trips into the nature and manufacturers of emmer and typical products of the mountain, guided visits to monuments, cooking show, the Taverne dei Terzieri (open on days 8 and 9, from 12:00 and from 19:00, the price of the menus is € 20.00), the Culinary Competition, open to all, “Menù a base di farro” (“Emmer-based menus”), with the winner that will present his menu at 19:00 on Saturday, December 8th, 2012, in an evening promoted by the Università dei Sapori of Perugia, and conducted by journalist and food & wine writer Dr. Marilena Badolato (RAI3 – heading “The Weekly”).
Deadline for entries: November 25th, 2012. Attached, in addition to the full programme, you will find the Rules, with directions on how to participate.

And then a round table entitled “Farro, its culture, its history”, Sunday, December 9th at 11:00; exhibition of ancient crafts; documentary exhibition of the commerce-collection “Famiglia Iachetti”; corner of artists and craftsmen; exhibitions of emerging painters and avant-garde; photographic exhibition; entertainment shows.

To conclude the kermesse another traditional event related to agriculture and religion, typical of the Valnerina’s villages: “il Focone della Venuta”, lighting a big fire to greet the passing of the Madonna of Loreto. Around the fire meets all the town, between the notes of the “C. Innocenzi” band and the consumption of food and drink. December 9th, 2012, starting at 21:00.
