Tra gli appuntamenti civili degli Eventi Valentiniani 2013 di Terni, in onore di San Valentino, torna per il 3° anno consecutivo la Maratona Internazionale di San Valentino, gara podistica Fidal di km 42,195 e regionale (mezza maratona) di 21,097 km. Slogan: “Corri l’Amore, Run for Love”.

La Maratona Internazionale di San Valentino 2013 si terrà domenica 17 Febbraio 2013. Il percorso prevede la partenza, ore 10:00, nella bassa Valnerina, da Ferentillo, 250 slm. Si “scende” in direzione Terni costeggiando il fiume Nera ed attraversando Montefranco, Arrone, Collestatte, Casteldilago e Torreorsina per poi raggiungere il tratto più spettacolare della gara: il belvedere inferiore della Cascata delle Marmore. Superata la Cascata, dopo circa 4 km i podisti arriveranno nel pieno centro di Terni, Piazza Tacito (100 slm). Da qui il resto del tracciato è pianeggiante e quasi forma un anello, tant’è che si proseguirà fino a Narni per poi tornare nuovamente al centro di Terni, passando prima per la Basilica di San Valentino ed arrivando poi a Piazza della Repubblica, traguardo designato. Dove ad attendere gli atleti ci saranno spettacoli ed animazione per bambini del gruppo Metamorfosi e musica. E nella vicina Piazza Europa gran ristoro di accoglienza.

Oltre alla corsa podistica vera e propria il giorno prima, sabato 16 Febbraio 2013:

  • nei locali del CLT (Circolo Lavoratori Terni) Expo Marathon, dove i podisti ritireranno il pettorale di gara e potranno visitare gli stand degli operatori del settore. Orario 10:00 – 21:00. E sempre al CLT a partire dalle ore 19:30 gratuito Pasta Party;
  • dalle ore 17:00 Saluto al Podista e Santa Messa del Podista presso la Basilica di San Valentino, raggiungibile anche a piedi dal centro grazie alla realizzazione dell’ormai consueto percorso pedonale per turisti;
  • dalle 18:20/18:30 lungo Corso Tacito Sfilata Medievale dei Comuni di Narni, Ferentillo e Collescipoli, con live music della band folk-allegorica “La Rakkia”;
  • esposizione di prodotti tipici a Piazza Europa.

The 2013 Maratona Internazionale di San Valentino will be held Sunday, February 17th, 2013. The race course includes the start, at 10:00, in the low Valnerina, from Ferentillo, 250 meters above sea level. “Run down” in direction Terni along the Nera River and crossing Montefranco, Arrone, Collestatte, Casteldilago & Torreorsina and then achieve the most spectacular stretch of the race: the belvedere inferiore (lower viewpoint) of the Marmore Falls. Exceeded the Waterfall, after about 4 km the runners will arrive in the center of Terni, Piazza Tacito (100 m above sea level). From here the rest of the track is flat and almost form a ring, so much so that they will continue to Narni and then back again to the Terni inner city, pass through the Basilica di San Valentino and finally arriving at Piazza della Repubblica, designated goal. Where to wait for the athletes there will be performances and children’s entertainment by the Metamorfosi group and music. And in the nearby Piazza Europa great refreshment reception.

In addition to the foot race itself the day before, Saturday, February 16th, 2013:

  • in the premises of the CLT (Terni Workers Club) Expo Marathon, where the runners will collect the bib number and will be able to visit the stands of the runner industry. From 10:00 to 21:00. And always at CLT starting at 19:30 Free Pasta Party;
  • from 17:00 Saluto al Podista e Santa Messa del Podista (Greeting to the Runner & Mass of the Runner) at the Basilica di San Valentino, at walking distance from the city center thanks to the creation of the now usual walkway for tourists;
  • from 18:20/18:30 along Corso Tacito Medieval Parade of the towns of Narni, Ferentillo and Collescipoli, with live music by “La Rakkia”, folk band;
  • exposure of local products at Piazza Europa.
