Difficoltà media, prenotazione obbligatoria (riferimenti all’interno del .pdf in fondo all’articolo).

A PerugiaNobili, Artiste, Imprenditrici.

After the spring edition, returns Saturday, October 27th, 2012 with the Autumn edition the ninth Giornata Nazionale del Trekking Urbano (Urban Trekking National Day). This year’s theme: “Storie comuni di uomini e donne non comuni” (“Common stories of uncommon men and women”), in the footsteps of the figures who contributed to the history of the member cities.
Urban trekking combines sport, art, taste and desire to discover the most hidden and curious corners of the cities, through itineraries often unusual and characterized by steep gradients of soil and stairways, studied by experts. You can talk about “vagabonding” tourism, free and amazing, suitable for all ages and without any special training: an activity that is good for the body, mind and palate (thanks to the tastings of typical products, Ed) of the “trekker”.

No less than 34 Italian municipalities participating in the Trekking Urbano circuit, with Umbria represented by Amelia, Perugia and Spoleto.
Let’s start with Amelia. Starting at 9:30 am (meet at 9:15) and 15:00 (14:45) from Porta Romana, Piazza XXI Settembre, route entitled “Il condottiero Germanico e Amelia Romana” (“The leader of mercenaries Germanicus and Roman Amelia“): to the discovery of Roman remains in the footsteps of the commander Germanicus, the young Roman general Nero Claudius Drusus, whose bronze statue (first century AD.), found on the spot, is located at the Archaeological Museum. Along the way, 2,5 km for about 3 hours, it will also be a tasting of typical products.
Medium difficulty, reservations required (references within the .pdf at the bottom of the article).

In PerugiaNobili, Artiste, Imprenditrici. Donne non comuni a Perugia” (“Nobles, Artists, Entrepreneurs. Not common women in Perugia“). Easy itinerary of 5 km and 3 hours (not including stops). Departure from the Monumento al XX Giugno in the suburb of the same name and arrival to Piazza IV Novembre. For example you will learn about Luisa Spagnoli, chocolate and angora wool entrepreneur, dubbed “Queen Midas” and that invented, among other things, the “bacio perugina“. During the path, also, you can visit the Moretti-Caselli Glassworks, the Casa Museo Palazzo Ranieri di Sorbello and the Brozzetti Museum-Atelier.
Departures at 10:00 and 14:00, for more information refer to the .pdf.

We end with Spoleto, where will actually be 2 the itineraries, both quite simple. One in the morning, starting at 9:30 am from Villa Redenta, titled “A spasso tra Romani e Longobardi” (“Walking among Romans and Longobards”). 2,5 km to 3 hours, with the possibility of doing a bruschetta’s appetizer with € 5,00 (reservations required for the aperitif).
From 15:30Sulle orme degli artisti” (“In the footsteps of artists“), departing from Piazza della Libertà (Palazzo del Turismo) and including a visit to the Museo Casa Menotti. Reservations are required for both routes (look at the relative .pdf).
