Come ogni anno, dal 1 al 6 novembre  la tradizionale Fiera dei Morti 2013 avrà luogo a Pian di Massiano, nel Piazzale Umbria Jazz, con orario dalle 9 alle 21.

Questa manifestazione è una delle più importanti e tra le più attese da cittadini e visitatori ma non tutti sanno che la Fiera Dei Morti 2013 è  la naturale prosecuzione di un evento che dura da più di 750 anni. Si hanno testimonianze scritte della Fiera dal 1.260 e da allora Perugia è stata teatro indiscusso di una delle più imponenti fiere d’Europa. Un tempo, durava fino a un mese ed era luogo di incontro per persone di diversa provenienza, in cui si scambiavano oltre che merci, anche culture, saperi e conoscenze. Per i perugini, lo spirito della manifestazione è rimasto intatto: è ancora oggi un momento di festa e di commercio, un luogo in cui è facile trovare qualche novità e curiosità.

Il “grosso” della Fiera dei Morti 2013 è locato a Pian di Massiano, in Piazzale Umbria Jazz (adiacente alla fermata del Minimetro) e può vantare ben 518 stand: 484 riservati a operatori commerciali, 27 ad artigiani e 12 a produttori agricoli.

Le merceologie più diffuse sono i prodotti per la persona (abbigliamento e biancheria intima, calzature, pelletteria, bigiotteria, profumeria, abbigliamento sportivo, caccia e pesca); quelli per la casa (biancheria per la casa, tappeti, mercerie, casalinghi, libri, quadri e stampe); erboristeria, ferramenta, accessori auto, giocattoli; prodotti alimentari in genere (dolciumi, salumi, formaggi, frutta secca) e punti di ristoro lungo tutti gli itinerari (porchetta, torta al testo, panini, crepes, caldarroste). Ma è possibile anche acquistare i primi regali di Natale negli stand che propongono prodotti artigiani:  ceramiche, ai mobili in legno, all’oggettistica, agli articoli orientali, al ferro battuto e vetro. I produttori agricoli vendono in prevalenza prodotti dei loro fondi: piante da orto e da giardino, frutta, verdura, miele.

La sezione della Fiera che si sviluppa in centro riempirà di bancarelle e di colori Corso Vannucci, Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza Italia, Via Fani e Piazza Matteotti con 60 stands dedicati all’ artigianato e alla enogastronomia. In Piazza Italia il primo e il 2 novembre torna il “Circolo Micologico Naturalistico Perugino” con la 30° edizione de “I funghi dal vero”,  dalle 9.30  alle 19.30 (ingresso libero).

Spazio anche all’estero grazie agli operatori commerciali provenienti dalle città gemelle di Perugia, i cui stand saranno collocati in Piazza Matteotti. Quest’anno partecipano la slovacca Bratislava (bambole di mais, articoli in vetro soffiato, bijoux di rame e uno stand gastronomico con wurst grigliati, birra e vin brulé), la tedesca Potsdam (tessuti Blaudruck, cappelli in feltro, bijoux), e la francese Aix en Provence (tessuti provenzali, saponi, spezie, gastronomia e ceramica).
