The Festa delle Rose e delle Rite (Feast of the Rose and of the Rite: remember that the rose is the flower symbol of Rita and of her native country) is all geared to an intense meditation. For 2012 this feast falls on the third Sunday of June, the 17th, but to experience the full meaning of the event should meet in the evening before, Saturday night June 16, 2012. In fact, you moves starting from the Sanctuary with only the light of the torches, and the stages within the charming center are marked by meditations on the great events of the soul, the spiritual journey of man, beginning from the baptism and the mystery of the Eucharist with the distribution to all those present of blessed bread.

On Sunday morning the festival is dedicated to the thousands of pilgrims who come during the year Roccaporena. Particular attention is given to all women named Rita, which is given a rose and a scroll commemorating the day of the Rite.

The festival closes each year in the night, with spectacular fireworks that leave the two sides of the narrow valley and cross right over the rock of St. Rita, a further tribute to Rita and to all those who come to make testimony of her faith.
