{"id":194017,"date":"2022-08-12T17:50:20","date_gmt":"2022-08-12T15:50:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bellaumbria.net\/church-of-santa-maria-della-vittorina\/"},"modified":"2022-08-13T17:31:28","modified_gmt":"2022-08-13T15:31:28","slug":"church-of-santa-maria-della-vittorina","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bellaumbria.net\/en\/religion-spirituality\/church-of-santa-maria-della-vittorina\/","title":{"rendered":"Church of Santa Maria della Vittorina"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"display: none;\">\n<p>La costruzione della chiesa di\u00a0<strong>Santa Maria della Vittorina\u00a0<\/strong>sembra risalire al secolo IX in memoria di una vittoria sui barbari: da qui il nome &#8220;ad Victorias&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>La tradizione vuole che qui il Santo di Assisi ammans\u00ec con il segno della croce il lupo feroce che atterriva gli abitanti del contado di Gubbio intorno al 1222.\u00a0Appena arrivato a Gubbio il frate di Assisi non aveva una fissa dimora, solo nel 1213 il beato Villano, vescovo della citt\u00e0, conceder\u00e0 ai frati di stabilire una sede nell\u2019antica Santa Maria della Vittoria. La costruzione originaria della chiesetta si fa risalire al secolo IX, nel punto in cui gli eugubini avevano battuto i saraceni. Per questo era stata chiamata Vittorina. All\u2019interno, le pareti dell\u2019unica navata, vengono arricchite, nel Quattrocento, con decorazioni a fresco, mentre sono seicenteschi i quattordici quadretti con le storie della Madonna.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"\/\/www.bellaumbria.net\/it\/agriturismi\/gubbio-e-dintorni\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">>>Vuoi visitare Gubbio? Maria della Vittoria, i francescani continueranno ad abitarla fino al 1240 d.C., anno in cui si trasferiscono nel nuovo convento. L&#8217;esterno della &#8220;Vittorina&#8221; non presenta decorazioni riferibili al tempo della costruzione, i muri sono in pietra locale, sorreggono la copertura a capanna e delimitano un ambiente quadrangolare di modeste dimensioni, dal quale emerge solo l&#8217;abside a pianta rettangolare. Quest&#8217;ultima, nel XV secolo, \u00e8 ridotta dalla costruzione di un muro per l&#8217;alloggiamento di una crocifissione.
