Situata nel cuore del centro storico cittadino, in Piazza IV Novembre gi\u00e0 <em>Piazza Grande<\/em>, \u00e8 certamente l&#8217;elemento di maggiore attrattiva della piazza assieme al Palazzo dei Priori e il Duomo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bellissima per eleganza delle linee, armonia delle forme e alto pregio della decorazione<\/strong>, la fontana fu realizzata tra il 1278 e il 1280. Fin dalla sua origine, il progetto di questa grandiosa fonte, da collocarsi in piazza, si accompagn\u00f2 al <strong>progetto dell&#8217;acquedotto<\/strong> che avrebbe portato acqua alla citt\u00e0 direttamente da Monte Pacciano.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"\"><img class=\"\" title=\"\" alt=\"\" width=\"\" height=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>La Fontana Maggiore e l&#8217;Acquedotto<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Il progetto della Fontana Maggiore<\/strong> si deve a Fr\u00e0 Bevignate in particolare per la parte architettonica, poi realizzata da Nicola e Giovanni Pisano, mentre la parte idraulica su eseguita da Boninsegna da Venezia. L&#8217;opera intendeva celebrare l&#8217;inaugurazione del nuovo<strong> acquedotto di Monte Pacciano<\/strong> e l&#8217;arrivo dell&#8217;acqua nella cittadella medievale.<\/p>\n<p>La realizzazione dell&#8217;acquedotto fu complessa, poich\u00e9 si lavor\u00f2 prima ai punti di captazione e poi al tracciato. Furono scavati centinaia di metri di cunicoli\u00a0per convogliare le acque delle sorgenti <em>Barigiana<\/em> e <em>Faggeto<\/em> in una cisterna di raccolta chiamata<em> &#8220;Conserva delle Vene&#8221;<\/em>; allo stesso tempo, venne costruito anche un immenso serbatoio detto <em>&#8220;Conservone Vecchio&#8221;<\/em> per la raccolta delle acque piovane. Queste antiche cisterne si trovano tutt&#8217;oggi appena all&#8217;esterno dell&#8217;abitato di San Marco, in posizione panoramica nei pressi di un&#8217;area boschiva ai piedi del Monte Tezio. Costituiscono delle attrazioni di grande fascino, sebbene il Museo delle Acque che se ne occupa sia temporaneamente chiuso al pubblico.<\/p>\n<p>Dai Conservoni part\u00ec dunque la costruzione dell&#8217;<strong>acquedotto: un percorso di circa 5 km<\/strong> <strong>che da Monte Pacciano procede verso Perugia<\/strong>, caratterizzando in particolare la zona di Porta Conca dove l&#8217;acquedotto \u00e8 visibile e visitabile, per giungere fin nel cuore del centro storico e portare l&#8217;acqua a sgorgare dalla Fontana Maggiore.<\/p>\n<p>Durante una visita a Perugia, prenditi del tempo per una <a>passeggiata sull&#8217;Acquedotto<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"\"><img class=\"\" title=\"\" alt=\"\" width=\"\" height=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>La Fontana Maggiore in Piazza IV Novembre<\/h2>\n<p><strong>La Fontana Maggiore \u00e8 tornata al suo splendore<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>dopo un lungo restauro<\/strong>, terminato nel marzo 2017. Risalendo Corso Vannucci e affacciandosi in Piazza IV Novembre, si noter\u00e0 per prima cosa il profilo della fontana che si staglia al centro della piazza con le sue due vasche marmoree concentriche, sormontate dalla tazza bronzea ornata di ninfe dalla quale sgorga l&#8217;acqua.<\/p>\n<p>Le superfici delle vasche sono interamente e <strong>riccamente decorate<\/strong>. In quella inferiore troviamo raffigurati principalmente i mesi dell&#8217;anno e relativi segni zodiacali, momenti della tradizione agraria e feudale, scene emblematiche tratte dal Vecchio Testamento o dal mito della Fondazione di Roma. In quella superiore, cos\u00ec come nelle statue poste agli angoli, abbiamo personaggi religiosi, mitologici, legati alla fondazione della citt\u00e0 di Perugia e al suo ruolo all&#8217;epoca.<\/p>\n<p>In queste opere \u00e8 evidente il momento di passaggio dell&#8217;<strong>arte figurativa<\/strong> dell&#8217;epoca: qui infatti si fa strada il concetto di spazio, con le formelle e le statuine dove appare la terza dimensione, con i bassorilievi che arretrano dando corpo e solidit\u00e0 alle figure.<\/p>\n<p>In origine, la fontana ornata anche da quattro grifoni in bronzo, che oggi sono conservati e esposti alla <a>Galleria Nazionale dell&#8217;Umbria<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Particolarmente consigliata una <strong>passeggiata serale<\/strong>, quando la bellezza della Fontana Maggiore e della Piazza \u00e8 esaltata da un&#8217;illuminazione che le rende ancor pi\u00f9 suggestive.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"\"><img class=\"\" title=\"\" alt=\"\" width=\"\" height=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Buona passeggiata da Bella Umbria!<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The most attractive feature of Perugia&#8217;s Piazza Grande, which is now called Piazza IV Novembre, with which it is in artistic harmony also regarding its placement, is the\u00a0<strong>Fontana Maggiore\u00a0<\/strong>very beautiful for the elegance of its lines, the harmony of its form and its precious decorations.<\/p>\n<p>It was built in 1278 perhaps according to plans by Brother Bevignate, who designed two poligonal and concentric marble basins surmounted by a bronze bowl.
