{"id":193949,"date":"2022-08-12T17:50:04","date_gmt":"2022-08-12T15:50:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bellaumbria.net\/church-of-st-pudenziana\/"},"modified":"2022-08-13T17:31:36","modified_gmt":"2022-08-13T15:31:36","slug":"church-of-st-pudenziana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bellaumbria.net\/en\/religion-spirituality\/church-of-st-pudenziana\/","title":{"rendered":"Church of St. Pudenziana"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"display: none;\">\n<p>La chiesa di\u00a0<strong>Santa Pudenziana di Narni<\/strong>\u00a0insieme a quella di San Michele Arcangelo a Schifanoia, rappresenta uno degli edifici romanici pi\u00f9 interessanti del territorio narnese.\u00a0La struttura, con il nome di Santa Maria di Visiano, sorge intorno ai primi decenni del XI secolo utilizzando materiali di recupero provenienti da altri edifici romani e paleocristiani nella localit\u00e0 oggi nota come Visciano di Narni.\u00a0Esternamente caratterizzata da un&#8217;alta torre campanaria ed un protiro sostenuto da due colonne marmoree con capitelli corinzi e da due pilastri angolari in laterizio, si sviluppa internamente su un impianto a tre navate con presbiterio rialzato e cripta. Alle spalle dell&#8217;altare centrale in travertino, posto al di sotto di una cupola piramidale, si allarga lo spazio semicircolare dell&#8217;abside che accoglie tuttora la cattedra abbaziale in pietra. La superficie muraria della chiesa di Santa Pudenziana \u00e8 riccamente affrescata con pitture votive realizzate nell&#8217;arco di tempo che corre dal XIII al XIX secolo, fra le quali si distingue una pregevole &#8220;Madonna dei raccomandati&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The church of \u00a0<strong>Santa Pudenziana<\/strong>\u00a0of Narni, together with the church of San Michele Archangel in Schifanoia, represents one of the most interesting Romanic edifices of the area of Narni.<br \/>\nThe structure, with the name of Santa Maria di Visiano, surges around the first decades of the 11th century using recycled materials coming from other roman and paleochristian edifices in the locality nowadays known as Visciano di Narni.<br \/>\nExternally it is characterised by a high belfry tower and a portico sustained by two marble columns with Corinthian capitals and two angular pilasters in masonry; inside it develops itself on a map with three bays with elevated presbyter and crypt.
