{"id":193693,"date":"2022-08-12T17:49:00","date_gmt":"2022-08-12T15:49:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bellaumbria.net\/diocesan-museum-of-gubbio\/"},"modified":"2022-08-13T16:49:32","modified_gmt":"2022-08-13T14:49:32","slug":"diocesan-museum-of-gubbio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bellaumbria.net\/en\/museums-and-art-galleries\/diocesan-museum-of-gubbio\/","title":{"rendered":"Diocesan Museum of Gubbio"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"display: none;\">\n<p>Il <strong>Museo Diocesano di Gubbio<\/strong> si trova all&#8217;interno dell\u2019antico <strong><em>Palazzo dei Canonici<\/em> <\/strong>(XII sec), nel cuore della citt\u00e0 di Gubbio, a pochi passi dalla <a title=\"\">Cattedrale<\/a> sorge.<\/p>\n<p>Il Museo ospita una mirabile raccolta di reperti artistici che ripercorrono la storia di Gubbio cos\u00ec come di tutta la Diocesi eugubina, le cui prime testimonianze sono presenti gi\u00e0 <strong>nei primissimi secoli dell\u2019Era Cristiana<\/strong>.\u00a0L&#8217;itinerario si articola in <strong>dodici sale<\/strong> disposte\u00a0 su <strong>due livelli<\/strong>. Per lo pi\u00f9, in queste sale sono conservate le opere provenienti dalla Cattedrale di San Mariano e San Giacomo e dalle altre chiese del territorio diocesano.<\/p>\n<p>Il piano terra ospita la\u00a0<strong><em>Botte dei Canonici<\/em><\/strong>, enorme contenitore quattrocentesco, autentica rarit\u00e0 per tutti gli appassionati di storia dell\u2019enologia oltre ad un fornito bookshop ed un luogo di ristoro. L&#8217;imponente\u00a0botte \u00e8 con ogni probabilit\u00e0 la pi\u00f9 grande d&#8217;Europa, ed arrivava a contenere <strong>387 barili<\/strong>, per un totale di <strong>20.124 litri di vino<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"\"><img class=\"\" title=\"\" alt=\"\" width=\"\" height=\"\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nLa sezione archeologica del museo offre testimonianze di epoca romana ed altomedioevale, mentre nelle sale attigue sono ospitati esempi di pittura e scultura del \u2018200 e \u2019300 tra cui spiccano la splendide tavole dipinte dall\u2019eugubino Mello. La pittura quattrocentesca \u00e8 rappresentata da opere della bottega di <strong>Ottaviano Nelli<\/strong>, di Taddeo di Bartolo e da uno splendido ciclo di affreschi con scene della Passione di Cristo.<\/p>\n<p>Accedendo al piano superiore del museo, si attraversare\u00a0<strong>il chiostro della Cattedrale<\/strong>\u00a0e si entra nel <strong>refettorio dei canonici<\/strong> (XIII secolo), dove sono visibili diverse opere tra le quali <strong>Crocifissione di Ges\u00f9<\/strong> (met\u00e0 del XV secolo), del Maestro di Santa Maria dei Laici, e la<strong> Madonna in adorazione di Ges\u00f9 Bambino dormiente<\/strong> (met\u00e0 del XVII secolo) della bottega del Giovanni Battista Salvi detto Sassoferrato. La visita del piano superiore termina\u00a0con la visione delle tre sale dette del &#8220;<strong>Tesoro della Cattedrale<\/strong>&#8220;, dove sono esposte preziose oreficerie ed
