San Gemini (Terni)<\/strong>, uno de I Borghi pi\u00f9 belli d’Italia<\/em>, si appresta a vestire nuovamente i colori dei due Rioni per la 45esima Giostra dell’Arme<\/strong>, dal 29 Settembre al 14 Ottobre 2018<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Questo antichissimo torneo cavalleresco<\/strong>, nato in onore del Santo Patrono del borgo, \u00e8 una delle rievocazioni medievali<\/strong> pi\u00f9 rilevanti d’Italia. Si ispira agli Statuti Comunali del XIV secolo, dove gi\u00e0 vi era traccia di competizioni equestri in nome di Santo Gemine<\/em> (patrono festeggiato il 9 Ottobre) e la sua prima effettuazione in tempi moderni risale al 1974.<\/p>\n

Da allora, ogni anno i due rioni si sfidano in varie competizioni che si trasformano in veri e propri spettacoli, mentre il borgo di San Gemini di anima di eventi, musica, intrattenimento e taverne.<\/p>\n

La Giostra<\/span><\/h2>\n

I due Rioni in cui viene suddiviso San Gemini sono il Rione Rocca<\/em>, che corrisponde alla parte di sopra vale a dire l’abitato verso il lato nord del borgo, e il Rione Piazza<\/em> che deve il suo nome alla Piazza di San Francesco e corrisponde all’area centrale del borgo.<\/p>\n

Alle sfide dei due Rioni si accompagnano tanti momenti<\/strong> di divertimento e goliardia, mentre le rievocazioni storiche permettono di vivere un vero e proprio tuffo nel passato medievale umbro:<\/strong> danze medievali, esibizioni di sbandieratori e tamburini, il bellissimo corteo storico.<\/p>\n

Il cuore della manifestazione \u00e8 certamente la giornata di Domenica 15 Ottobre<\/strong>, quando dalle ore 16:00 al Campo de Li Giochi si svolge la Giostra<\/strong>. Il torneo vede la partecipazione di 6 cavalieri, tre per Rione, i quali in sella al loro cavalli dovranno effettuare un giro di campo in velocit\u00e0 ed infilare con un giavellotto un anello di soli 5 cm di diametro. La lancia dovr\u00e0 essere poi scagliata contro un bersaglio, uno scudo gentilizio<\/em> chiamato “arme”<\/em>, diviso in fasce di colori e forme diverse cui corrispondono differenti punteggi. Ogni cavaliere ha a disposizione 3 turni ed il Rione che totalizza il maggior punteggio ottiene la vittoria della giostra.<\/p>\n

La Giostra, emozionante e ricca di colpi di scena, tiene il pubblico col fiato sospeso fino all’ultimo e rappresenta la degna conclusione delle giornate di festa e rievocazione precedenti.<\/p>\n

Il Programma 2018<\/span><\/h2>\n

Per tutta la durata della Giostra saranno aperte le antiche botteghe e le\u00a0Taberne<\/em>, le tipiche taverne<\/strong>\u00a0con i piatti della tradizione<\/strong>. A cura dell’ente e dei due rioni sono previste inoltre rappresentazioni teatrali di scena di vita medioevale, incontri e concerti.<\/p>\n

San Gemini (Terni)<\/strong>, one of\u00a0The<\/em>\u00a0most beautiful Villages of Italy (I<\/em>\u00a0Borghi pi\u00f9 belli d’Italia<\/em>\u00a0)<\/em>, will be full of the colors of its two districts (Rioni) for the 44th Giostra dell’Arme – Joust of Arm from 30th September to 15th October 2017.<\/p>\n

This ancient horses joust<\/strong>, born in honor of the Saint of the city, is one of the Medieval reenactment<\/strong> most relevant of Italy. The event is inspired by the Municipal Statutes of XIV century, in which there were traces of some equestrian competitions in the name of San Gemini<\/em> (celebrated on 9th October). In 1974 there was the first modern joust.<\/p>\n

Every year the two districts challenge themselves in various competitions that turn into real shows, while the city of San Gemini is animated by many events, music, entertainment and taverns.<\/p>\n

The Joust<\/span><\/h1>\n

The city of San Gemini is divided into two districts: Rione Rocca<\/em>, that is the northest part of the village, and the\u00a0Rione Piazza<\/em>\u00a0from the name of the square, Piazza of San Francesco, the central area of the city.<\/p>\n

In addiction of the challenges of the two districts, there are many moments of funny,<\/strong> while during the historical reenactment you will live a real journey into the medieval Umbrian past<\/strong>: medieval dances, sbandieratori shows, tamburini shows, the beautiful historical parade.<\/p>\n

The main moment of the manifestation is the Joust on Sunday 15th October 2017<\/strong>, at 4 pm at the Campo de Li Giochi. Six knights will participate in the tournament, three for each district. Riding their horses they have to spear a ring of 5 cm and then throw the spear against a target, a gentilizio coat of arms called “arme”,<\/em> divided into different colors and shapes with different scores. Each rider has 3 rounds and the district that scores more points will win the joust.<\/p>\n

The joust is really exciting and it is the best conclusion of the previous days of feast and reenactments.<\/p>\n

San Gemini (Terni)<\/strong>, one of\u00a0The<\/em>\u00a0most beautiful Villages of Italy (I<\/em>\u00a0Borghi pi\u00f9 belli d’Italia<\/em>\u00a0)<\/em>, will be full of the colors of its two districts (Rioni) for the 44th Giostra dell’Arme – Joust of Arm from 30th September to 15th October 2017.<\/p>\n

This ancient horses joust<\/strong>, born in honor of the Saint of the city, is one of the Medieval reenactment<\/strong> most relevant of Italy. The event is inspired by the Municipal Statutes of XIV century, in which there were traces of some equestrian competitions in the name of San Gemini<\/em> (celebrated on 9th October). In 1974 there was the first modern joust.<\/p>\n

Every year the two districts challenge themselves in various competitions that turn into real shows, while the city of San Gemini is animated by many events, music, entertainment and taverns.<\/p>\n

The Joust<\/span><\/h1>\n

The city of San Gemini is divided into two districts: Rione Rocca<\/em>, that is the northest part of the village, and the\u00a0Rione Piazza<\/em>\u00a0from the name of the square, Piazza of San Francesco, the central area of the city.<\/p>\n

In addiction of the challenges of the two districts, there are many moments of funny,<\/strong> while during the historical reenactment you will live a real journey into the medieval Umbrian past<\/strong>: medieval dances, sbandieratori shows, tamburini shows, the beautiful historical parade.<\/p>\n

The main moment of the manifestation is the Joust on Sunday 15th October 2017<\/strong>, at 4 pm at the Campo de Li Giochi. Six knights will participate in the tournament, three for each district. Riding their horses they have to spear a ring of 5 cm and then throw the spear against a target, a gentilizio coat of arms called “arme”,<\/em> divided into different colors and shapes with different scores. Each rider has 3 rounds and the district that scores more points will win the joust.<\/p>\n

The joust is really exciting and it is the best conclusion of the previous days of feast and reenactments.<\/p>\n

San Gemini<\/strong>, one of\u00a0I<\/em>\u00a0Borghi pi\u00f9 belli d’Italia<\/em>\u00a0(The<\/em>\u00a0most beautiful Villages of Italy<\/em>), is about to re-dress the colors of the two Rioni (districts), Rocca and Piazza, for the 39th\u00a0Giostra dell’Arme<\/strong>\u00a0(Joust of the Arms<\/strong>),\u00a0from September 29th to October 14th, 2012<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The event is inspired by the Statuti comunali (municipal Statutes) of the fourteenth century, where there is already trace of the equestrian competitions in the name of\u00a0Santo Gemine<\/strong>\u00a0(is celebrated on October 9th, ed), the\u00a0Patron Saint<\/strong>\u00a0of the medieval village. The Giostra, Sunday,\u00a0October 14th, 2012<\/strong>\u00a0starting from\u00a016:00<\/strong>\u00a0at Campo de li Giochi<\/strong>, is a tournament consisting of six knights, three for each Rione. Riding their horses the knights must pierce with a spear a ring of 5 cm. and then throw it against a target, the Arme, a gentilizio coat of arms, that is divided into bands of different colors and shapes, and with different scores. Each rider has at his disposal 3 rounds, and the Rione that scores the most points wins the Palio, a banner of red velvet.<\/p>\n

The two Districts will compete also in historical reenactments, real shows: for example on\u00a0October 1st, 2012<\/strong>\u00a0by the\u00a0Rione Piazza<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cLa Guerra dei Falchi<\/strong>” –\u00a0La magia del volo della Falconeria<\/strong>\u00a0(“The War of the Hawks” – The Magic of Flight of Falconry, from 21:30, Piazza San Francesco); the following day,\u00a0October 2nd, 2012<\/strong>\u00a0and again starting from 21:30 but at the square of Palazzo Vecchio “Te Tingo Honoris Nomine<\/strong>” –\u00a0Transmit and enhance the value and significance of the Faith in their own rione. Following animation for children with puppets: a dragon, a castle and a princess to save<\/strong>. By\u00a0Rione Rocca<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012 at the 2012 Giostra dell’Arme there will be an interfaith gathering starring the Jewish communities of Viterbo and Rome, the Italian Islamic Consult and the Community of Sant’Egidio.<\/p>\n

For the duration of the Joust will reopen the old shops and ateliers and the “Taberne<\/strong>” (taverns<\/strong>), with traditional dishes. Always carried out by the two districts there will also be other theater scenes of medieval life, meetings and concerts.<\/p>\n

Certainly not fail the\u00a0historical pageant<\/strong>, Saturday,\u00a0October 13th, 2012<\/strong>, starting at\u00a022:00<\/strong>\u00a0from\u00a0Piazza San Francesco<\/strong>. Also you can visit numerous\u00a0exhibitions<\/strong>, among which stand out that of Ascoli\u00a0sculptor<\/strong>\u00a0Pericle Fazzini<\/strong>\u00a0(author, among others, of the sculpture “La Resurrezione” of the Aula Palo VI, Sala Nervi, of the Vatican), entitled “Lo spirito della Materia<\/strong>” (“The spirit of the Matter”), who received the Medal of the President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano.<\/p>\n
