Ad <strong>Amelia<\/strong> la si festeggia il <strong>24 Novembre<\/strong> di ogni anno.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fermina nacque a Roma nel nel 272 d.C.<\/strong>, figlia di Calpurnio Pisone, prefetto della Citt\u00e0 Eterna. Convertitasi al cristianesimo giovanissima, <strong>a<\/strong> <strong>15 anni<\/strong> dovette fuggire per scampare alla <strong>persecuzione dei cristiani<\/strong> da parte degli <strong>imperatori Diocleziano e Massimiano<\/strong>. Si imbarc\u00f2 lungo il <strong>Tevere<\/strong> per arrivare a <strong>Centumcellae<\/strong> (l&#8217;odierna <strong>Civitavecchia<\/strong>). Durante la navigazione si imbatt\u00e9 in una <strong>violentissima tempesta<\/strong>, e leggenda vuole che fu <strong>lei<\/strong>, inginocchiandosi e pregando Dio, <strong>a<\/strong> <strong>calmarla<\/strong>. I <strong>marinai<\/strong> che assistettero al prodigio la dichiarano subito <strong>santa<\/strong>, protettrice dei naviganti. E Patrona di Civitavecchia.<\/p>\n<p>A Centumcellae rimase <strong>due anni<\/strong> in una grotta, che porta il suo nome (dove oggi sorge Forte Michelangelo), e predic\u00f2 il Vangelo nel porto.<br \/>\n<strong>Rimessasi in viaggio<\/strong>, arriv\u00f2 ad <strong>Amelia<\/strong> (TR), precisamente in localit\u00e0 <strong>Luchiano<\/strong>, dove fu sorpresa dalla persecuzione e <strong>martirizzata<\/strong>. La sua fede fu cos\u00ec incrollabile che convert\u00ec uno dei suo carnefici, <strong>Olimpiade<\/strong>, che diventer\u00e0 anche lui Patrono di Amelia. <strong>Mor\u00ec il 24 Novembre del 304<\/strong>, ed i suoi resti vennero prima seppelliti in gran segreto dai cristiani di Amelia, poi ritrovati nell&#8217;<strong>870<\/strong> e deposti nella <strong>Cattedrale tra i colli amerini<\/strong>. Il <strong>28 Aprile del 1647<\/strong> il <strong>Vescovo di Amelia<\/strong> don\u00f2 alcune <strong>reliquie<\/strong> alla <strong>Chiesa Cattedrale di Civitavecchia<\/strong>, e da allora nel porto laziale viene festeggiata questo giorno ogni anno.<\/p>\n<p>Ancora oggi, grazie a Fermina, <strong>Amelia e Civitavecchia sono gemellate<\/strong>, ed ogni anno, tramite le staffette podistiche di S.
