Importanti porte delle mura medievali sono la <strong>Porta di san Pietro,<\/strong> la <strong>Porta di Sant&#8217;Angelo<\/strong> e la <strong>Torre degli Sciri<\/strong>. Porta San Pietro, detta anche <strong>Porta Romana<\/strong>, si trova alla fine di corso Cavour. La facciata esterna, progettata da Agostino di Duccio e Polidoro di Stefano alla fine del XV secolo, ispirandosi a Leon Battista Alberti rievoca negli elementi decorativi e nella struttura la composizione architettonica dell&#8217;<strong>Arco Etrusco<\/strong>.
