Si tratta di alcuni locali celebri soprattutto per la<strong> Sala delle Udienze,<\/strong> dove sono conservati degli affreschi del <strong>Perugino<\/strong> che costituiscono dei capolavori della pittura italiana del XVI secolo.<\/p>\n<p>Tra il 1452 e il 1457, il luogo fu sede di una potente corporazione denominata <strong>&#8220;Arte del Cambio&#8221;<\/strong> che riuniva i banchieri perugini, detti appunto &#8220;cambiavalute&#8221;, dalla quale deriva il suo nome.<\/p>\n<p><a><img class=\"\" title=\"\" alt=\"\" width=\"\" height=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>All&#8217;interno del Collegio del Cambio di Perugia<\/h2>\n<p>La porta principale fu disegnata da Lodovico di Antonibo e decorata da ante intagliate da Antonio da Mercatello nel 1501. La prima sala che si incontra \u00e8 la cosiddetta\u00a0<strong>Sala dei Legisti<\/strong>, il vestibolo. Qui si si trovano alcuni banconi barocchi, intagliati da Giampietro Zuccari negli anni &#8217;10 del 1600.<\/p>\n<p>Alla Sala delle udienze si accede subito sulla destra, mentre in fondo si apre la <strong>Cappella di San Giovanni Battista<\/strong>, interamente affrescata da Giannicola di Paolo, realizzata nel 1506-1509 da Gasperino di Pietro sulla primitiva chiesa di San Giovanni della Piazza, che era stata inglobata nel palazzo con l&#8217;ampliamento quattrocentesco.<\/p>\n<p>Nella volta sono rappresentati il Padre Eterno tra apostoli, evangelisti, dottori della Chiesa, e santi patroni di Perugia, mentre sull&#8217;altare si trova un Battesimo di Cristo e ai lati un&#8217;Annunciazione. Le pareti laterali sono decorate da Storie della vita di Giovanni Battista e Sibille. La sala presenta una base rettangolare coperta da volte ogivali, i cui spazi sono stati completamente decorati e integrati con gli elementi d&#8217;arredamento.<\/p>\n<p>Dopo alcuni interventi di sistemazione architettonica, a partire dal 1490 fu deciso di procedere con la decorazione dell&#8217;ambiente. Inizialmente venne chiamato da Firenze Domenico Tasso, per realizzare il bancone e i postergali. Nel 1492 arriv\u00f2 a Perugia anche la statua in terracotta della Giustizia, probabilmente opera di Benedetto Da Maiano.<\/p>\n<p>Nel 1496 si decise poi di far dipingere volte e pareti, con i lavori che venne appunto commissionati a <strong>Pietro Perugino<\/strong>. Considerato il maggior artista d&#8217;Italia, Perugino a quel tempo aveva bottega contemporaneamente a Firenze e a Perugia.<\/p>\n<p>Perugino lavor\u00f2 agli affreschi della sala in particolare tra i 1498 e il 1500, avvalendosi dell&#8217;aiuto di di alcuni artisti dell&#8217;epoca come Andrea d&#8217;Assisi e forse di un giovane Raffaello.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"\" title=\"\" alt=\"\" width=\"\" height=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Gli Affreschi del Perugino al Collegio del Cambio<\/h2>\n<p>Le decorazioni iniziarono dalla <strong>volta<\/strong>, che rappresenta tra grottesche una serie di divinit\u00e0\/pianeti, figure allegoriche di ispirazioni astronomica unite a figurazioni mostruose. Si prosegu\u00ec poi con le pareti, le cui tematiche pare siano state dettate dall&#8217;umanista Francesco Maturanzio.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Il ciclo pittorico<\/strong> realizzato si muove tra elementi pagani e cristiani, ispirandosi al ciclo degli <em>Uomini Illustri<\/em> di Ghirlandaio a Firenze e agli affreschi di <a>Palazzo Trinci<\/a> a Foligno. Il tema di fondo \u00e8 il concetto di perfezione dell&#8217;uomo sulla terra, da conquistare attraverso l&#8217;accordo delle antiche virt\u00f9 popolari con la nuova rivelazione del Cristianesimo.<\/p>\n<p>Le decorazioni delle <strong>lunette<\/strong> riportano le quattro virt\u00f9 cardinali, rappresentate da altrettanti esemplari dell&#8217;antichit\u00e0, e le tre virt\u00f9 teologali, con riferimenti ad altrettanti momenti della vita di Ges\u00f9:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div>Alla parete destra si trova la figura isolata di\u00a0<em>Catone<\/em>, simbolo di saggezza. Nella prima lunetta la\u00a0<em>Prudenza e Giustizia sopra sei savi antichi<\/em>. Sul pilastro divisorio si trova l&#8217;<em>Autoritratto<\/em>\u00a0di Perugino con l&#8217;iscrizione dedicatoria. La seconda lunetta presenta la\u00a0<em>Fortezza e Temperanza sopra sei eroi antichi<\/em>.<\/div>\n<p>La parete di fondo ha le lunette della\u00a0<em>Trasfigurazione<\/em>\u00a0e della\u00a0<em>Nativit\u00e0<\/em>. Sulla parete destra\u00a0<em>Dio Padre in gloria tra angeli e cherubini sopra un gruppo con profeti e sibille&#8221;<\/em>. Il pilastro successivo contiene una cartella tra grottesche con la data di completamento dell&#8217;impresa: &#8220;Anno Salut.
