Dall’ 11 al 21 Luglio 2019 a Perugia<\/strong>, torna l’appuntamento per eccellenza con la musica in Umbria: torna infatti Umbria Jazz<\/strong>, con un cartellone ancor pi\u00f9 ricco ed eclettico.\u00a0<\/p>\n

L’importanza di questo festival \u00e8 oramai ben nota, si tratta di una vera e propria avventura cominciata nel 1973 che ha saputo crescere ed innovarsi anno dopo anno, edizione dopo edizione, capace di portare le pi\u00f9 grandi eccellenze della musica jazz italiana e internazionale a calcare i palchi umbri. Sottolineamo anche\u00a0l’impegno e il valore del sistema “Umbria Jazz”<\/strong> nel moltiplicare gli eventi e nel coinvolgere quanto pi\u00f9 possibile altre aree e citt\u00e0 umbre, in quell’ottica di condivisione libera della musica che anima il festival fin dalle origini. Impegno ancor pi\u00f9 apprezzabile mentre \u00e8 ancora in corso la lenta ripresa dell’economia turistica della regione a seguito degli eventi sismici di due anni fa.<\/p>\n

<\/strong>Un evento che si preannuncia imperdibile. Sul palco perugino si alterneranno autentiche leggende della musica nazionale ed internazionale. Ad aprire la serata ci sar\u00e0 nientemeno che Robben Ford<\/strong>, leggenda della chitarra blues con all’attivo cinque Grammy nominations, tre decenni di carriera solistica, collaborazioni con Miles Davis, Joni Mitchell, George Harrison, e Bob Dylan. Subito dopo di lui, il particolare trio formato da Alex Britti<\/strong>, Max Gazz\u00e8<\/strong> ed il batterista francese Man\u00f9 Katch\u00e8<\/strong>.\u00a0 L’incontro tra Britti e Gazz\u00e8 non \u00e8 nuovo visto che gi\u00e0 negli anni Novanta Alex e Max si erano ritrovati a suonare insieme nei fumosi locali blues di tutta Europa. A due anni da una serie di concerti intrapresi per ricordare questo loro periodo passato, al gi\u00e0 eccezionale duo si aggiunge un altro straordinario musicista: il batterista Manu Katche che nel suo curriculum vanta lunghe collaborazioni con Peter Gabriel, Sting, Joe Satriani, Dire Straits e tra gli italiani Pino Daniele e Stefano Bollani.<\/p>\n

In questa occasione con la sua band troviamo un ospite davvero molto speciale: Joe Lovano<\/strong>, uno dei pi\u00f9 grandi sassofonisti del jazz contemporaneo. La line up comprende Robert Hurst<\/strong> al basso, Karriem Riggins<\/strong> alla batteria e Marc Ribot<\/strong>, geniale chitarrista e creatore di progetti non convenzionali.<\/p>\n

<\/strong>PAOLO CONTE “50 years of AZZURRO”<\/h3>\n

L’Italia \u00e8 cambiata negli ultimi 50 anni e con lei, anche tutta la musica che fa da sottofondo all’incedere del tempo. Poi per\u00f2 ci sono canzoni che rimangono inalterate nella storia e diventano parte del costume di un paese. “Azzurro<\/strong>“, resa celebre da Adriano Celentano \u00e8 una di queste canzoni. La canzone venne composta Paolo Conte<\/strong>\u00a0ed i 50 anni di questa canzone danno l’occasione al cantautore genovese di portare ad Umbra Jazz la sua musica. La rassegna jazz accoglie nel suo cartellone la canzone d\u2019autore italiana di cui l\u2019Avvocato astigiano \u00e8 da oltre cinquant\u2019anni uno dei pi\u00f9 amati e autorevoli interpreti.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sonorit\u00e0 ispaniche per due grandi interpreti del jazz. Un Chick Corea<\/strong> mai cos\u00ec attivo e creativo come in questi ultimi anni, porta ad Umbria Jazz “The Spanish Heart Band” uno spot sull\u2019anima latina del grande jazzman. Esperienza non nuova per il celebre pianista americano, difatti\u00a0i fans ricorderanno certamente che My Spanish Heart (1976) \u00e8 anche il titolo di un disco di grande successo con cui Corea traduceva in suono la sua passione per la musica ispanica ed il flamenco (fondamentale in tal senso fu la collaborazione con Paco de Lucia, leggenda del flamenco). Sempre in tema di riscoperta della Spagna, il nuovo \u201cFlamenco Project\u201d di Richard Bona<\/strong> ha preso forma tra Madrid e Barcellona ed \u00e8 stato ispirato da un concerto di Paco De Lucia. Fedele alla sua visione della musica, che si propone di superare i paletti dei generi codificati, Richard Bona con Bona de la Frontera fonde i ritmi africani e le tradizioni andaluse per immaginare un \u201cnuovo flamenco\u201d. Con lui una band di assoluto livello in cui spicca il madrileno Antonio Rey, considerato il nuovo astro della Guitarra Flamenca.<\/p>\n

NICK MASON\u2019S SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS<\/h3>\n

Riaccendere i riflettori sul primo periodo dei Pink Floyd<\/strong>, sul rock psichedelico e pi\u00f9 sperimentale delle origini, sulla nascita della leggenda. \u00c8 il progetto di Nick Mason<\/strong>, cofondatore e batterista della band, il solo sempre presente per tutto l\u2019arco del trentennale percorso artistico dei Pink Floyd, sia in sala di incisione che nei tour.<\/p>\n

In realt\u00e0 la musica di Snarky Puppy sfugge a ogni tentativo di classificazione proprio per la capacit\u00e0 di concentrare con estrema disinvoltura i suoni della contemporaneit\u00e0.<\/p>\n

Thom Yorke, cantautore, polistrumentista, compositore britannico e storico frontman dei Radiohead, \u00e8 uno dei cantanti pi\u00f9 importanti e influenti del nuovo millennio, inserito nella lista dei 100 migliori cantanti di sempre secondo Rolling Stone.
\u201cThe Eraser\u201d \u00e8 il titolo del suo primo album solista, pubblicato nel 2006 e prodotto da Nigel Godrich, produttore dei Radiohead.<\/p>\n

Lauryn Hill si conquist\u00f2 una reputazione nel mondo della musica come unica componente femminile del trio The Fugees (gli altri erano Wyclef Jean e Pras Michel) che negli anni novanta fu campione di vendite di dischi, secondo solo a Michael Jackson sulla scena internazionale del R&B. Ai Fugees si riconosce il merito di aver portato ai massimi livelli artistici un genere come l\u2019hip hop, anche coniugandolo con soul, reggae e ritmi caraibici.<\/p>\n

It is one of his most beautiful and emotionally involving projects, recorded in 1977 following his participation in the African music festival of Lagos in Nigeria. For this reason, it is also one of the most “African” discs of the artist, although full of funk veins and therefore considered a bridge between Africa and Brazil.<\/p>\n

The famous guitarist returns to Umbria with his show “An evening with Pat Metheny”, preceded by the opening of Kyle Eastwood Quintet. A special evening that will put together a select group of musicians able to retrace the entire repertoire of Metheny’s music, such as the Mexican drummer Antonio Sanchez who has been following him since 2000, the English keyboardist Gwilym Simcock, and the Malay contrabassist Linda May Han Oh.<\/p>\n

A tribute felt and strongly desired, because the great crooner was one of the first inspiration of Porter, accomplices the records that his mother made him listen to as a child. The Umbria Jazz 2018 closes with this concert that incorporates the formula of the disc thanks to – for one only Italian date – an orchestra arranged and directed by Vince Mendoza, based on the nucleus of young musicians who gave life to the Umbria Jazz Orchestra, enriched by others winds and a string section.<\/p>\n

For this reason, it is also one of the most “African” discs of the artist, although full of funk veins and therefore considered a bridge between Africa and Brazil.<\/p>\n
