La vasca superiore poggia su delle colonnine dalle quali si elevano statue raffiguranti personaggi correlati alla fondazione mitica della citt\u00e0; le cinquanta formelle che decorano la vasca inferiore raffigurano il calendario dei lavori agricoli, alcuni episodi biblici, storici e mitologici, i due simboli della citt\u00e0 (il grifo), del partito guelfo (il leone) e dell&#8217;impero (l&#8217;aquila), le sette arti liberali e la filosofia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-align: left;\">Divertitevi a trovare nelle formelle le due scene tratte dalle favole di Esopo, con le raffigurazioni di gru e lupo, lupo e agnello.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bellaumbria.net\/it\/itinerari\/cosa-vedere-a-perugia-in-un-giorno\/attachment\/perugia_fontana-maggiore-dall-alto1\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-77181\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-77181\" title=\"Perugia_Fontana-Maggiore-dall-alto1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bellaumbria.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Perugia_Fontana-Maggiore-dall-alto1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"590\" height=\"324\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-align: left;\">Piazza IV Novembre \u00e8 ammantata dalla <\/span><strong style=\"text-align: left;\">Cattedrale di San Lorenzo (D)<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: left;\"> e dall&#8217;imponente <\/span><strong style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bellaumbria.net\/it\/storia-e-archeologia\/palazzo-priori-perugia\/\">Palazzo dei Priori<\/a> (C)<\/strong><span style=\"text-align: left;\">, dove ha sede dal 1878 la <\/span><a style=\"text-align: left;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bellaumbria.net\/it\/musei-e-gallerie-arte\/galleria-nazionale-umbria\/\"><strong>Galleria Nazionale dell&#8217;Umbria<\/strong><\/a><span style=\"text-align: left;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-align: left;\">Costruita nel 1345, la Cattedrale di San Lorenzo \u00e8 dedicata a uno dei patroni della citt\u00e0. Il lato della chiesa che si affaccia sulla piazza \u00e8 in realt\u00e0 la fiancata laterale, decorata soltanto nel lato inferiore da una trama geometrica di rombi di marmo rosa e bianco, mentre l\u2019ingresso si trova in Piazza Danti. L&#8217;influenza del Santo sulla citt\u00e0 coincise con la stesura degli Statuta Bernardiniana di cui si dot\u00f2 Perugia. Ovvero delle leggi comunali moralizzatrici, che vietavano i giochi e le balere.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Nella nostra miniguida su cosa vedere a Perugia non pu\u00f2 mancare lo splendido <strong>Palazzo dei Priori,<\/strong> edificato in stile gotico tra il 1293 ed il 1443, \u00a0uno dei migliori esempi di palazzo pubblico dell&#8217;et\u00e0 comunale. Vi si accede da Piazza IV Novembre, attraverso un portale duecentesco ornato dalle statue del grifo e del leone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">L&#8217;interno conserva ambienti di notevole interesse come la <strong>sala dei Notari,<\/strong> costituita da otto archi a tutto sesto aventi diverse pitture che narrano leggende, storie bibliche e massime.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Agli ultimi piani ha sede <strong>la Galleria Nazionale dell&#8217;Umbria,<\/strong> il cui ricco patrimonio artistico \u00e8 organizzato secondo un percorso cronologico: al terzo piano sono raccolte le opere che vanno dal XIII al XV secolo, al secondo piano quelle dal XVI al XIX secolo. Godetevi i locali e i negozi di Corso Vannucci e arrivati alla fine avventuratevi a visitare la <strong>Rocca Paolina (H)<\/strong>, una vera e propria fortezza che venne fatta erigere da Papa Paolo III dopo il sacco di Roma. La sua costruzione rese necessaria la distruzione di pi\u00f9 di cento case ma anche di monasteri e chiese.
