It will be held in Orvieto (TR), from December 8th to 11th, 2011, the second edition (after the “zero” of last year) of Orvieto Food Festival, OFF #1: Orvieto nutre la mente (Orvieto feeds the mind).
The Festival, born from the desire to build a combination of nourishment for the body and food for the mind, pleasures of good food and cultural incentives, tradition of good wine and suggestions for the spirit, has grown and offers a rich calendar of events and excellent guests.
Festival starting Thursday, December 8th, 2011 with a jazz concert by Gegè Telesforo 5tet, from 21:30 at the Sala Expo of the Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo. Cost: € 15.00.
The palate and the mind will be fed through 5 themes:
– OFFICINE CLANDESTINO, food, drinks & live music. The Sala Expo of the Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo in the 4-day festival will propose, from 19:00 to 01:00, aperitifs, snacks and cocktails with live music. In addition, 3 concerts: one already mentioned, the Gegè Telesforo 5tet. Friday, December 9th from 23:00 funky, blues and groove with Ezozo + Ballaro groovin’ (free admission). Saturday 10th, again at 23:00, Luis Y Miguel with Milonga de Mis Amores, costs € 10.00;
– TALK OFF, talk shows, presentations, meetings, excellent appointments. The first will be Friday, December 9th, 2011 from 17:00 to Sala Expo with Vladimir Luxuria Presents “Eldorado” with Pino Strabioli. Among others, Luis Sepùlveda interviewed by Gianni Mina (Saturday, December 10th at 18:30 Sala dei 400), Fabio Volo presents his new book “Le prime luci del mattino” with Riccardo Campino (December 10th at Sala dei 400, 21:00), Fausto Bertinotti (Sunday, December 11th Sala Expo at 17:00);
– CONVIVIO, at the table with… Thinkers around a laden table. For example, Friday, December 9th from 20:30 at the La Rocca Restaurant, in the locality Ripesena, there will be Piergiorgio Odifreddi, Gianluca Foresi, Vladimir Luxuria, Pino Strabioli and Leo Sanfelice. € 40.00 (for the menu, we refer to the .Pdf program);
– ITINERARI, gastronomic journeys between the restaurants of the historic center. 5 will be from Sunday, from Il pranzo della domenica (The lunch of the Sunday) to Cucina della tradizione: il Natale (Cuisine of the tradition: the Christmas). And then Speciale Maiale e Speciale Maiale 2 (Pig Special and Pig Special 2), ending with Pesce Fritto e Baccalà (Fried Fish and Cod).
