From September 28th to 30th, 2012 is back for the 28th time the Scarpinata a Monte Rufeno (Slog to Mount Rufeno). The national event of walking, trekking and hiking (without forgetting the good food, ed) will stretch not only in the forests of Umbria, but also in Lazio and Tuscany, as the Riserva Naturale Monte Rufeno is located where the three regions bordering. And 3 are also the towns concerned, also dubbed by walkers as the “Triangolo Benedetto d'Italia” (Benedict Triangle of Italy): Allerona, in the province of Terni, a few kilometers from Orvieto; Trevinano and Acquapendente, both in the province of Viterbo.
The 2012 Scarpinata a Monte Rufeno will start Friday, September 28th, 2012 from Acquapendente with "La Via Francigena nella Città del Santo Sepolcro” (The Francigena Way in the City of the Holy Sepulchre). At 10:00, the Francigena Walking reserved for students, foretaste of the “senior” route which will start at 16:00, after the operations of gathering and registration.
Saturday, September 29th, 2012 restart from Allerona at 10:00 am for the “Scarpinata nei boschi della selva di Meana” (Slog in the woods of the Meana forest), a ring of about 12 km (but you also can do a shorter route of 5 km) in the Villalba Park. At 13:30 lunch by the Pro Loco of Allerona, complete with a bottle of wine for all participants.
Sunday, September 30th, 2012 “La Scarpinata” (The Slog), starting at 9.30 from Trevinano and free-pitch walk in the paths of the Mount Rufeno Nature Reserve. There are two routes available, 11 km and 17 km. Refreshments along the way and meal at the arrival. Brocchetta (little jug) made by ceramic for all participants.
