Spello, the Roman Hispellum, famous for its extra virgin olive oil as well as one of “I Borghi più belli d’Italia” (“The Most Beautiful Villages of Italy“), from May 25th to June 2nd, 2013 will return to once again host its famous Infiorate, floral carpets depicting sacred motifs that fill the streets of the small village on the day of the procession of Corpus Christi.
It starts Saturday, May 25th, 11:00, and Sunday, May 26th, 2013, Piazza della Repubblica, with Torte in Fiore – Flower Cake Design. Opening of the Museum of the Infiorate and of the exhibition-contest (and award ceremony, ed) Torte in fiore – Flower Cake Design 2013, 7th edition. And then cake design courses for adults and children and the opening of the Taverna degli Infioratori, from 20:00 on both evenings and with a flowers-themed menu.

The Tavern will be open, always at dinner, also on May 29th and 30th and, of course, June 1st and 2nd, 2013, the “real” 2013 Infiorate of Spello:
Saturday, June 1st, 2013 from 11:00, Giardini Pubblici (Public Gardens), 8th edition of Spello in Fiore, Nusery-Gardening Market-Exhibiton;
- at 16:00, also on Saturday, the Infioratori get started in the narrow streets of the historic center. Deadline for the realization of the Infiorate at 08:00 on Sunday, June 2nd, 2013;
while the artists will give their best, the notte bianca La Notte dei Fiori with music, exhibitions, shops, and bars, and night guided visits to the artistic sites of the village and to the floral paintings & carpets;
from 10:00 on June 2nd Mass and procession of Corpus Christi, Church of Santa Maria Maggiore;
- at 18:30 2013 Infiorate contest awards.
Moreover, in addition to live music, performances and conferences, 24th National Competition of Photographic Art “Trofeo Infiorate 2013“, reserved for shots taken in the 2 days of the realization of the flower arrangements.
