La Fiera delle Utopie Concrete nacque nel 1988 da un’idea di Alexander Langer, con l’intento di essere una “Comunità della Sostenibilità” dell’Alta Valle del Tevere, proponendo ed elaborando idee per un futuro sostenibile coniugato alle buone pratiche quotidiane.
Il tema portante di questa 19a edizione, dal 20 al 22 Ottobre 2011 a Città di Castello (PG) èRio+20 – La Lungimiranzala sostenibilità in chiave territoriale ponendo la lungimiranza quale virtù ecologica strettamente connessa, a 20 anni dalla prima Conferenza sull’Ambiente e lo Sviluppo delle Nazioni Unite, chiamato anche Summit della Terra, che si tenne a Rio nel Giugno del 1992, ed a pochi mesi, Giugno 2012, da Rio+20, la nuova Conferenza delle Nazioni Unite sullo sviluppo sostenibile.

Ci saranno meeting, tavole rotonde, progetti, mostre ed installazioni.
Ogni giornata avrà un titolo specifico: giovedì 20, dopo l’inaugurazione della Fiera alle ore 9:00 presso la Sala degli Specchi del Palazzo Bufalini di Città di Castello, dalle 9:30 e fino alle 16:30 sarà il Local Energy Day – Mettere gli attori in rete per uno sviluppo sostenibile. All’interno del programma di giovedì saranno anche presentate le Pagine Verdi dell’Umbria, un mezzo pratico per la ricerca di informazioni su dove si possono acquistare i beni o i servizi che rendono praticabile uno stile di vita più sostenibile.

Venerdì 21, in occasione dell’Anno Internazionale delle Foreste, proclamato dalle Nazioni Unite, si parlerà di Foreste per la società – La società delle foreste. Dalle 9 alle 16, sempre presso la Sala degli Specchi di Palazzo Bufalini.

Sabato 22, dalle 10 alle 13, Il futuro di ieri, il futuro di domani.
