Is coming to Citerna (PG), one of The Most Beautiful Villages of Italy, the fourth edition of CiternaFotografia, event dedicated to the language of photography with exhibitions, meetings, workshops, screenings, installations and portfolio readings.
The theme of 2012 edition of the Festival of photographic art as well as Photo Festival of the Upper Tiber Valley, from April 28th to May 6th, 2012 (the exhibits will last until June 3rd, ed), will be “Stato di Crisi” (“State of Crisis“): through the images will be told today’s Italy and its many difficulties, social and economics. The theme will be the subject of a collective of 13 photographers called “Sguardi su un paese in crisi” (“Glimpses on a country in crisis“).

Among the main guests you will find Emiliano Mancuso with “Stato d’Italia” (“State of Italy“), a journey last 3 years (2008-2011) between Lampedusa, life in the palaces of the Roman policy, Rosarno, the young Taranto guys that can not take anymore the Ilva’s fumes. The photographer will be in Citerna and will be interviewed by Renata Ferri, chief photo editor of Io Donna.

The protagonist of an open meeting will be also the photographer Monika Bulaj, an expert on Afghanistan who has based his work on that country with “Nur. (Luce)“.

Another important gallery will be “Cronache del Basso Impero” (“Chronicles of the Later Roman Empire“) by Francesco Zizola: analysis of the moral corruption and greed for power that surrounds, perhaps in a more explicit and blatant way than the Roman Empire that fell two thousand years ago, Rome today.

Speaking of the crisis, banks could not certainly be missed. For example, Mark Henley will present “The Vaults“, clicks on the world of Swiss banks, pillars not only of Switzerland itself but of the world economy.

The guest nation of 2012 CiternaFotografia will be Israel, also present with his Embassy and with Felix Lupa that will propose “Dwellers of the magic car“, work set in the streets and the alleys of Tel Aviv, where the subjects will be the men and women laboriously attempting to live in those streets.

CiternaFotografia is an appointment scheduled in the circuit Portfolio Italy by FIAF (Italian Federation of Photographic Associations). Opening hours of exhibitions and info point: Monday-Friday 10:00 to 13:00 and 16:00 to 19:00; Saturday and Sunday 10:00 to 13:00 and 16:30 to 19:30.
