2011 WTE – World Tourism Expo, 2nd edition - UNESCO cities and sites

Assisi is ready to accept, for the second year in a row, the WTE, the World Tourism Expo, the World Tourism fair which aims to promote and enhance sites and cities recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
The town of St. Clare and St. Francis will make available, from 16th to Septemer 18th, 2011, the spaces of the Palazzo Monte Frumentario and Palazzo Vallemani, as well as an emotional journey into the road in front of the two exhibition buildings.

Stands, conferences, round tables. But three appointments will steal the scene: the Workshop of September 16th, from 10 to 18 at the Palazzo Vallemagni for the exclusive use of exhibitors and tour operators with commercial offers relating to UNESCO Sites, Responsible Tourism and Sustainable Tourism. The buyers will be from all over the globe, including Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, France, United Kingdom, Spain, USA, Japan and also, of course, to the Italian ones.

The second and third relate to two awards, the 2011 TRI UNESCO and the 2011 TC UNESCO. The first is the Italian Responsible Tourism Award for UNESCO, now in its third edition, which will award the better package or tour itinerary in terms of responsible tourism; the second one is UNESCO Tourism Culture Award, in its second edition, which rewards the best package on one of the destinations recognized heritage by UNESCO. The awards are both promoted by the Italian newspaper L'Agenzia di Viaggi.

Admission is free and the fair will be open from 10 to 18, except for the first day of 16th since, at 21:30 and the Hall of Conciliation of the Municipality of Assisi, will be held the concert: "Va Pensiero... Tra Sacro e Profano" by the Cappella Musicale della Basilica Papale di San Francesco, Dir. p. Giuseppe Magrino.
