UmbriaLibri 11: C'era una Donna (There was a Woman)

UmbriaLibri is the event organized by the Umbria region to promote the culture, reading and Umbrian publishing. The 2011 edition will be the 17th, and for the first time not only will be held in Perugia but also in Terni, where it will start from November 4th to 6th, 2011 (CAOS cultural center and public library BCT), then move to the capital of the region from November 10th to 13th (exhibition Centre of Rocca Paolina, CERP, and some places in the historic center). But will be interesting from the festival with some events Bevagna, Torgiano and Gubbio (PG).

The theme of UmbriaLibri 11 will be: "C'era una Donna" ("There was a Woman"). The event this year will in fact, as can be easily derived, dedicated to the female and their Italy and Worldwide view, with important national and international guests as Melissa Hill, Alawiya Sobh, Mariapia Veladiano, Chiara Palazzolo and Letizia Muratori, for a total of 400 (guests) and about 160 appointments, totally free, such as meetings with writers, books presentations, conferences, round tables, exhibitions, musical and theatrical performances, lectures and seminars.

Present, as usual, the local editors, 50 estimated, with 70 exhibitors in the Libreria dell'Editoria Umbra (which, this year, replaces the exhibition-market), managed by the Associazione Editori Umbri. 10 titles of "woman" magazines, spaces for children with workshops, lectures and animated games, and the section "Umbrialibri Noir".

Departure, as anticipated, by Terni on November 4th, 2011 at 8:30 with Scripta Volant by Eleonora Anzini. In Perugia will start on November 10th, 2011 with the presentation of the book "Pagans and Christians in the Roman Empire: The Breaking of a Dialogue" by Peter Brown and Rita Lizzi Testa. Speakers Tessa Canella, Franca Ela Consolino, Lellia Cracco Ruggini.

There will also be two spaces to talk about politics: the November 6th, 2011 from 11:00 at the CAOS "Maria Cuffaro meets Emma Bonino". Sunday 13th instead it is called " Power and Representation" with Francesca Izzo, Catiuscia Marini, Giovanna Melandri, Flavia Perina, Renata Polverini. Moderator: Ritanna Armeni.

In addition, space for special events like the concert of Cristina Donà (Theatre Secci of Terni, November 5th from 21:30, € 8), the film "Il corpo delle donne" ("Women's bodies") by Lorella Zanardo (November 8th, 2011 Pavone Theatre of Perugia), the exhibitions "Donna Oggi" ("Women Today") (State Archives of Perugia, from 7h to 12th) and "Pagine senza parole. Libri d'artista" ("Pages without words. Artists' Books") (Centro servizi camerali "G. Alessi ", November 7th-12th, 2011). And much more.
