Is one of the shots by Steve McCurry, big name in the landscape of modern photography, that the resounding success of strong public (over 129,000 visitors) and criticism from November to January 2010 in Milan, now adorns salt from the National Gallery in Perugia from April 11 to September 5, 2010.
One of the great masters of photography of this century, which has over 240 shots in a location where it faces, shapes, shadows and places mark the identity of countries like Afghanistan, India, Tibet, Burma. The exhibition, supported by the Superintendence for the Historical and Artistic Heritage of Umbria and curated by Tanja Solci, is an artistic event of great significance for the whole, an unusual event which blends the familiar foreignness. Steve McCurry has personally traveled several times during his life in the places that tells its story through its faces, living intimately those lands and experiences that they contain, inside and hidden behind their borders, giving back all the emotions that you do testomonie through photography. The exhibition has a particular construction: crosses the boundaries of the ordinary and explodes in absolute creativity. Metaphorical trees are the single issue and backdrop of the event: Tibetan monks, the faces of children, Afghan girls as beautiful and delicate leaves ...
