This is an event that originates from the traditional ceremonies of the first half of the fourteenth century and recounts the moments of municipal statutes codified in 1371 AD, from "Reading the Bann", where auctioneers to draw a horse call at "certamen" knights of Narni you to demonstrate their preparedness to defend the city.
The evening takes place "The Offering of the Candles in the Cathedral": an evening procession of over 600 people, reached the Cathedral, in homage to St. Juvenal, the first Bishop of Narni.
On the feast of the patron, May 3, takes place instead of the "Historic Race Ring" which consists of a horse race in which riders have to put a silver ring with a pole suspended from two ropes in front of City Hall.
The Saturday before the second Sunday parades through the city streets a wonderful friendly town with Papal and municipal authorities, the authorities of Terzieri Corporations and noble families.
At this stage St Jerome, known in those days as the "Campo de li giochi," the Sunday after the three historical terzieri Mezule, Fraporta and Santa Maria are addressed in the "Race of the ring" itself, a duel of skill and speed.
