2011 Olio e Farro (Olive Oil and Spelt)

In the suggestive location of the Castle of Alviano (TR) you can rediscover and savor the scents, flavors and recipes of the local rural tradition thanks to 2011 Olio e Farro (Olive Oil and Spelt), November 26th and 27th, 2011.
2011 Olio e Farro will be a real open-air Taste Workshop in Alviano, where local products such as oil, spelt, bread and wine "will reign". But in addition to the tastings space for culture and art with exhibitions, folk performances and a concert.

The event will begin Saturday, November 26th, 2011 at 15:00 pm with the performance of pupils of the Primary School of Alviano, with presentation of traditional stories and songs at the Castle. At the same time, and until 20:00, will open the Enogastronomy and Cultural Wine Tour in the Antico Borgo with displays and tastings of typical local products and dishes.
Two exhibitions: "Armonie di Luce" ("Harmonies of Light"), at the Castle of Alviano and by Ciro Schiaroli; the second is "BRIGANTI IN MOSTRA – Dai Bamboccianti alla Domenica del Corriere" ("Bandits in Show - From the Bamboccianti to the Domenica del Corriere") by Mario Pennacchi. Closing the night at 21:00 at the Church of Santa Maria Assunta the "Christmas Concert for singing and speaking voice", by Spazio Fabbrica of Lugnano in Teverina (TR).

Sunday 27th starts at 11:00 am, Holy Mass with Blessing of the New Olive Oil with a costumed parade of the rioni, and reopening of the Enogastronomy and Cultural Wine Tour (until 19:30).
From 16:00 start 3 consectuive tastings: the first entitled "Profumi e Sapori nell'Antico Borgo" ("Fragrance & Flavors in the old village"); after will be the turn of the wine with "Brindisi al Castello" ("Toast at the Castle"), by AIS (Italian Sommelier Association, reservations required 339.2919920 - 328.2374283); at last, Free Tastings by "Il Frantoio" at the restaurant.

During the event, guided tours to the Museo della Civiltā Contadina and to the Centro di Documentazione Storica di Bartolomeo d'Alviano e dei Capitani di Ventura Umbri by the Sistema Museo.
