Narni Black Festival #13 - 2011

From August 31st to September 3rd, 2011 Narni, and San Gemini (TR) for the final night, will host the thirteenth edition of the Narni Black Festival. Abandoned the historic location of the Rocca Albornoz, the festival will unfold primarily in the Piazza dei Priori and the Auditorium San Domenico.

To inaugurate the festival will be the former enfant prodige Francesco Cafiso, with his quartet. On 31st August at Auditorium San Domenico from 21:00.

September 1st is the turn of Danilo Rea with his Trio. Always from the auditorium and always at 21:00.

On the 2nd, the event will move outdoors, taking advantage of the wonderful scenery of square Piazza dei Priori, natural theater, where will perform the female Jazz voice Dee Dee Bridgewater, not new to Italy (he won a festival of Sanremo, ed), to Umbria an Terni: in fact, she participated in the first edition of Umbria Jazz, it was the year 1973 and the event was held in Terni, being part of the big band of Thad Jones and Mel Lewis. She also will start at 21:00.

Double Final on September 3rd, 2011: in square Piazza dei Priori, from the 21:00, will go up on stage Mario Biondi; from the 23:00, held at the tenuta Marchesi Fezia of San Gemini, DJ Set with a very special guest: Skin. The versatile British artist, best known as lead singer of Skunk Anansie, but also a solo artist, designer, actress and much more, will get behind the console.

In addition, space for a photo workshop directed by Andrea Boccalini, one of the most respected jazz photographers on the international scene, an exhibition on the brigandage and a collaboration with 2011 Narnia Fumetto, 6th edition: the authors Stefano Andreucci (Zagor, Dampyr, Tex.) and Mauro Laurenti (Zagor and Dampyr) will produce drawings of live performances of Cafiso an Rea at the Auditorium. The works will be projected on a giant screen, in an interesting mix of music and images.
