Musica per i Borghi 2011 - Music for the Villages 2011 (Timeless Rhythms)

Now in its ninth consecutive edition Musica per i Borghi, Music for the Villages, the festival of ethnic and folk music that will delight the summer of the old town centers and the most charming squares of the villages of the Middle Tiber Valley.

The theme of 2011 edition, from 2 to July 24, will be "Ritmi senza tempo", "timeless Rhythms": space to the world of Italian and international percussion. And many outstanding artists who will perform in this touring festival, chosen by the maestro and Artistic Director Peppe Vessicchio.

Said the guests, many of quality. Opens on July 2 in Deruta Tullio de Piscopo. Then comes the turn of the American drummer Mike Terrana, the July 3 inCerqueto; Fabio Concato July 15 in Solomeo and Niccolò Fabi the July 17 in Papiano. After the weekend di musica e sapori, weekend of music and flavors, open taverns and street artists in the streets of the historic center of Marsciano the 22 and July 23, will close the festival on 24 in the main square, always Marsciano, a trio of great artists who will perform for the first time together on stage: Roberto Vecchioni, PFM and Emma Marrone, accompanied by 40 teachers of the Symphony Orchestra conducted by Vessicchio.

Among the most awaited the concert-event to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy "Harmonies of Italy" (July 7, Spello, Villa Fidelia), with the participation of famous interpreters of the various national folk music traditions as Mauro Pagani, former PFM, for Liguria; the eclectic musician Beppe Servillo, founder of Avion Travel, Campania; the percussionist Alfio Antico, among the greatest interpreters of the European tammorra, for Sicily; the Andhira, with their Mediterranean unmistakable sound, Sardinia and the songs and dances of Abies Alba for the Trentino Alto Adige.
