2011 Mostra Mercato Nazionale del Tartufo e dei Prodotti Agroalimentari di Qualità di Fabro (TR) (National Market-Exhibition of Truffle and Quality Food-Farming Products), 24th edition

From November 11th to 13th, 2011 Fabro (TR) will celebrate once again "The white truffle, Prince of Fabro" with the 24th Mostra Mercato Nazionale del Tartufo e dei Prodotti Agroalimentari di Qualità (National Market-Exhibition of Truffle and Quality Food-Farming Products).
More than 50 stalls will flood the streets of the borgo of Fabro, where visitors can taste and buy, as well as the truffle, Umbrian and non-Umbrian food excellences such as honey, olive oil, wine, saffron, mushrooms, cured meats, cheeses and liquorice. And then music, performances, exhibitions, conferences on quality products and also an attempt to obtain a record to the Guinness Book of World Records. The Market-Exhibition will be free admission, and will stay open with the following times: Friday 11th from 17:00 to 22:00; Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th hours 9/22.

Novelty of the 2011 edition is the creation of a second pole: in addition to the centro storico, the home of the Exhibit and of the celebrations for the Feast of St. Martin, Patron Saint of Fabro (during the feast will run a catering service with a menu featuring truffles), this year will open the "Padiglione delle Degustazioni d'Eccellenza" (Excellence Tastings Pavilion) at the Centro Commerciale Naturale di Fabro Scalo (Fabro Scalo's Natural Mall), where will be hosted products of excellence of the Fabresi and Orvietane lands. In this pavilion there will be the chef Maurizio Di Mario, seen on Italian TV, La7 e La7d with "Chef per un Giorno" ("Chef for a Day"), which will offer menus based on foods of the area. It will also be an active service tastings "takeaway" for the entire day: an idea for a tasty appetizer or a different kind of hunger breaks accompanied by a good glass of wine of the Umbrian countryside.
And along the streets of Fabro Scalo music, street performers, stands and small antiques fair with free tastings of mulled wine. The businesses will remain open throughout the day.

Said of the rehearsal of a record attempt. Saturday, November 12th, 2011, from 16:00 hours in Piazza San Basilio, they will try to make the Frittata al Tartufo più Grande del Mondo (the Biggest Omelette with Truffles of the World): the pan will be 250 cm in diameter; will be "beaten" by countless hands 2,000 eggs, then they will add the truffl; after the cooking the omelette will be free offered to all the participants of the exhibition. If the experiment succeeds, for the 2012 edition the organization will contact the Guinness Book of World Records, in order to obtain the official record.

The two poles of the Show, Fabro and Fabro Scalo, will be linked via a free complimentary shuttle service which will start from the parking area located in the Borgosole industrial zone of Fabro. Visitors will be asked for a small fee for parking (€ 3.00 for a car and € 8.00 camper vans) which will be donated to A.I.R.C. (Italian Association for Cancer Research).
