In Città della Pieve (PG) every year, during the celebrations in honor of St. Luigi Gonzaga (1568-1591), patron saint of the first Terziere Casalino of the town, is made "L'Infiorata Artistica di San Luigi Gonzaga"  ("The Artistic Flowers Arrangements of St. Luigi Gonzaga").

The peculiarity of the Infiorata of St. Luigi, which will reach on June 24th, 2012 its 46th edition, is to have, from the end of 90s, a main theme of the works draw on the pavements. The theme changes from year to year, and for 2012 will be "Arte Sacra nel territorio del Terziere" ("Sacred Art in the territory of the Terziere"): the master infioratori, the night between 23rd (Start at 21:00), and 24th, will make carpets depicting some of the paintings in the churches of the Terziere Casalino.
For these true works of art, spread along 340 meters of the main street, Via Pietro Vannucci, using only the wildflowers that are found in typical Umbrian landscape (broom, acacia, sainfoin, etc..), collected in previous days by groups of volunteers.

From June 14th to 17th and on days 19th, 22nd and 23rd, 2012 will be open from 20:00 the traditional “Taverna del Barbacane” ("Tavern of the Barbican"). And always the Tavern will host, June 21st, 2012, the eighth edition of “Il gusto dei fiori” - cena a base di essenze e fiori ("The taste of the flowers" - dinner and flower essences themed dinner (reservations required, the number is indicated in the program). Moreover, in the two days of the Infiorata you can visit the exhibition of handicrafts and flowers “Giardini Fioriti nella patria del Perugino” (Gardens in Bloom in the home of the Perugino").
