La Fioritura – The Flowering of Castelluccio di Norcia 2011

The highland of Castelluccio is also beautiful and spectacular during the year, despite it is chromatically "poor." Nevertheless, this monotony is broken among end May and the first ones of July thanks to La Fioritura, The Flowering.
The "Fiorita" feast is celebrated during second Sunday of June, but to admire this mosaic of colors, that goes from the yellow ochre to the red, from the violet one to the white, there is no one precise day: it depends on the climate of the season.
A show of the nature, to admire enraptured. A real chromatic explosion that winds the Pian Grande and the Pian Perduto, that are filled with genzianelle, narcissuses, violets, poppies, ranucoli, asfodeli, violet Eugeniae, clovers, wood sorrel and a lot of other kinds. And, if you are fortunate, in the walk you can also be met gazelles and roes.
