Villa Solomei Festival - 13th edition - 2011

From 1 to July 3, 2011 returns to the castle of Solomeo, a fraction of Corciano in the province of Perugia, the Festival of classical music (and beyond, ed) Villa Solomei, now in its thirteenth edition. Rich and important the program of the Villa Solomei Festival 2011, chosen by the artistic director Fabio Ciofini this year, on the occasion of 150 years of the Unification of Italy, will present a concert to the public and readings on the theme of the Risorgimento.

It starts right in the afternoon of Friday, July 1 (Theatre Cucinelli, 18.30) with a cocktail Concert of the pianist Mariangela Vacatello which will perform the music of F. Liszt. It continues, at 21.15 at the new location of the amphitheater of the Cucinelli Theatre with the Concert under the stars. Guests this year will be the Tokyo Opera with Japanese Puccini. Later, at 22.45, for the Concert Candlelight will perform in the Piazza della Pace Notes Note di sabbia. A jazz trio, bass, piano and drums, a lyrical voice and a light table on which images are formed and soul made of sand are the ingredients of this magical show that amazes and moves. In the historical center, as interludes between concerts, Music on the streets of the village to 18.00 with Metamorphosis, and at 19.45 for History, music and words in Circle there will be Voices from the Risorgimento by the LaAV Circle (reading aloud) of Perugia.

Saturday's program July 2 provides, at 18.30 at the Teatro Cucinelli, the aperitif concert of Spanish duo Silvia Márquez Chulilla on the harpsichord and Gorka Hermosa Sanchez that will accompany the accordion. At 21.15, at the amphitheater, the highly anticipated concert of the Mancuso brothers that we will experience a musical journey from the Renaissance to the present with Nocturnal Seas - Renaissance: a naked voice among the roots of a common story. At 22:45 the night will warm up and take life with a candlelight concert by Kayhan Kalhor , accompanied by Mohssen Kasirossafar and Fard Ali Bahrami. The Iranian artist propose Afshari, one of the 12 ways of the ancient Persian repertoire of modal music playing the Shahkaman, a tool built on Kayhan Kalhor project, similar to the traditional kamancha but with longer handle, 4 instead of ten strings, the soundboard and with larger holes. For the intervals between the concerts, Romance, songs ... hopes, illusions with Paolo Macedonio at 18.00 and at 19.45 for the cycle History, music and words in a circle to read on to music 150 years of the Unity of Italy Rebel Youth by the company The Rhinoceros, directed by Gianluca Iadecòla.

The program of Sunday, July 3 opens at 11:00 am at the Church of St. Bartholomew, with the Commissioning of artists Canticum Novum Choir, directed by Victoria Rastorgueva. The aperitif concert of 18.30 is assigned to Francesca Coccolino (piano) and Roberto Casado (flute) presenting The flute and the Jazz - Tribute to Mike Mower and Raymond Guiot. Following the presentation of the CD recorded in May by the Canticum Novum Choir Discantica by the workshop in Milan: Requiem - WA Mozart. At 19.45 will be back History, music and words in a circle with Words in music, edited again by LaAV Circle. At 21.15, at the amphitheater, close in style with the Stabat Mater of F.J. Haydn (1738-1809), performed by the Choir Canticum Novum and accompanied by Hermans Academy, Marta Mathéu (soprano),Gloria Banditelli (mezzo-soprano), Roberto Mattioni (tenor), Sergio Foresti (bass) and directed by M° Fabio Ciofini. This concert will be repeated on July 4 in Norcia, near the Basilica of St. Benedict, at 18.00.

The concerts will be totally free.
