On June 13, Monteleone di Spoleto hosts the traditional Festa delle Agnelle di Sant'Antonio, the event which every year takes place in the "carpenters" with their pack animals.
The tradition of the party's peasant origin and dates back to when, during the winter, who owned a flock was grazing the lowlands to find less impervious areas and pastures.
The so-called practice of transhumance was accompanied by ceremonial rites such as the blessing of the flocks, the Festa delle Agnelle remember those moments and held on the day of St. Anthony of Padova, patron of animals.
On the morning of June 13 the carpenters their animals are blessed at the Church of Monteleone and in turn leave the parish a load of wood that will be used to heat the rectory during the long winter.
