In the hills of Montefalco, Casale Satriano is ready to welcome you for a pleasant holiday immersed in nature. The farmhouse is located within the Antonelli winery, in San Marco where, in addition to the woodlands containing century old oak trees, olive groves and above all the vineyards that produce the famous wines of Montefalco and Umbria: Sagrantino, Montefalco Rosso, Trebbiano Spoletino and Grechetto.
The farmhouse is divided into six apartments from 4 to 7 beds and there is one bedroom. The apartments have a splendid view of Monti Martani and have access to a large garden with a 15 meter swimming pool, barbecue, and a traditional wood oven. The Antonelli San Marco winery is one of the most historic and famous wineries of Montefalco. Producing an average of 350,000 bottles per year. The production is exported to many countries around the world. The Antonelli style is to produce wines that are balanced and elegant, moreso than overpowering. The cellar is situated at the heart of the estate, directly below the manor house. It has recently been enlarged to incorporate a new system that uses gravity feed during vinification, therefore avoiding the use of pumps. All the wines are produced from the estate’s own grown grapes in order to offer a product whose potential, characteristics and quality can be controlled and evaluated at every phase of production.
The estate is certified organic, and therefore no chemical fertilizers or synthetic pesticides are used and the wine cellar also observes the organic guidelines.
The wines and other products: Montefalco enologically means Sagrantino, but also Montefalco Rosso (Sangiovese, Sagrantino and Montepulciano), Grechetto and Trebbiano Spoletino, therefore a large range of autochthonous varieties that allow us to produce very different wines, a total of 9 types. But the estate also produces extra virgin olive oil, chickpeas, emmer wheat, emmer wheat pasta and breeds free-range pigs, which produce excellent pork cold cuts. All products can be tasted at our "Cucina in Cantina" restaurant/cooking school and purchased directly from our wine shop.
"Cucina in Cantina" has a large kitchen with an adjoining tasting room within the Antonelli winery where you can participate in cooking lessons, or lunches and dinners by reservation. Lessons can be half day or 3 hourly sessions. The lessons focus on the Umbrian cuisine based on local ingredients and the pairing with our wines. Lunches and dinners can be organised for a minimum of 4 people. Every month there are events that are detailed in the calendar of "Cucina in Cantina".
During the period of the black truffle (June-July) and the white (October-November) we are able to offer truffle hunting in our woods, followed by lunch with a truffle menu.
Varied walks in the woods and around the entire estate can be taken by following the paths that we have marked on maps that we distribute to our guests. Mountain bikes are available.
