Borgo Di Carpiano
Località Carpiano - 06024 - Gubbio (PG)
Typology: Farm House
The ancient castle of Carpiano dates back to the beginning of the X century, when it belonged to Rovaldo Baldassini, father of Sant’Ubaldo, patron saint of the town of Gubbio. In the XVII century the property was left to the Curia of Gubbio and a church was built, dedicated to San Biagio and Santa Liberata. This church was in use until 40 years ago, when the property was abandoned, owing to a decline in the population of the area.In 2001 Riccardo & Marilisa Parisi discovered it, and immediately fell in love with that “pile of rocks”. The restoration was carried out using original materials, it took many years of devotion by the owners and most of the furniture, paintings, china and silver are from their family collection. The property is composed of three different cut stone houses terracing down to the infinity pool and garden grounds that overlook the valley. It is surrounded by five hectares of predominately olive trees, forest and an organic vegetable garden.
