MUSIC and DANCE
There are several events in which artists of national and international fame performing in concerts in the territory.
From some years now, the week leading up to Easter in Umbria can not begin without the Easter concert of RAI 1 10th edition, sponsored by Project Homage to Umbria. His every edition since 2008 has been dedicated to Unicef Italy. The 6Aprile 2015 at 16.30 at the Orvieto Cathedral (FREE ENTRY), will perform the Orchestra of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, one of the most prestigious orchestras of Itialia, conducted by Zubin Mehta.
The concert will be fully taken up by Rai 1 and Rai 1 broadcasted worldwide on the same evening.

Music, dance and theater: from February 7th to 11th April will raise the curtain on one of the happiest theater seasons in Umbria; three months of big shows. Al Teatro Francesco Torti Bevagna, six appointments of quality accompany the season until April 2015, in a cultural milieu steeped in music, dance, theater and great performers. Guided tour of the museum collection enriched with thematic readings and tasting of local products at the Eroli's Palace.
The collection of the Eroli's Palace Museum can be divided into three main sections that house artifacts and works of great value and craftsmanship.
In the archaeological section are visible the two most ancient and special: the fangs of a Straight-tusked elephant, dating back to 700,000 years ago, and an Egyptian mummy with a wooden sarcophagus dating from the fourth century BC; here we can admire the archaeological Roman and medieval finds from the Roman Narnia which highlighted among all the funerary relief of the family of Latuedii (40 "20 BC) and the cup bronze original of the fountain in the Piazza dei Priori (1303), symbol of the wealth of the town Narni in medieval times. In the picture gallery you can admire the works of great masters who have made the history of Narni between the fourteenth and eighteenth century. Rooms dedicated hosting two masterpieces of the Italian Renaissance: "The Coronation of the Virgin" by Ghirlandaio and "The Annunciation" by Benozzo Gozzoli.

On the occasion of the fifty years of Giuliano Giuman, Perugia artist devotes a major exhibition, promoted, by agreement, by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities - MIBACT, the National Gallery of Umbria, the City of Perugia University for Foreigners of Perugia, by the Academy of Fine Arts "Pietro Vannucci". The eventosi take place from 7 February to 12 April 2015, and will be divided into multiple locations, with high symbolic value, in the historic center of the city: from the spaces of the National Gallery of Umbria and the City Palazzo dei Priori, which will host the main route , to those of the University for Foreigners, the Academy Museum.
The exhibition, which is one of the most important artistic events of the season, pays homage to an artist who has to his credit a half century of activity, during which his research has explored many frontiers reaching more qualitative outcomes that are reported at nationally and internationally.
In Perugia, precisely to Palazzo Baldeschi, from February 24 to June 2, will be presented the exhibition "The Great War and Umbria, documents and stories in memory of the First World War" on the occasion of his centenario.La "Piccola Umbria" was heart of some aspects of the conflict often remained in the shadows and sometimes unknown to most. To keep alive the memory and with the aim of bringing to light the events that have marked the territory the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Perugia and the Foundation CariPerugia Art organized an exhibition within the spaces of Palazzo Baldeschi, in Perugia, one of the prestigious buildings owned by the Foundation.
CELEBRATIONS FOR THE HOLY WEEK
Let's list the most famous and important religious festivals of Easter in Umbria. The lion's share, of course, Assisi, the town known more for the same, considering the suggestiveness of the places, the intensity of the representations and rooted spirituality that characterizes this land. But also in Gubbio, Norcia, Cascia and villages minor Easter is deeply felt, with liturgies, representations and processions:
- path of Holy Thursday in Assisi;
- Good Friday in Assisi, with two processions of the statues of the Dead Christ and Our Lady of Sorrows, the Cathedral of San Rufino to the Basilica of St. Francis and back crossing, in the morning procession, the cloistered monasteries;
- Great Way of the Cross at the foot of the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, Assisi;
- other Stations of the Cross on Good Friday. In Todi, Gualdo Tadino, Montefalco, Terni, Perugia, Gubbio, Orvieto, Spoleto, Fabro, Seal, Moat Vico and in other towns of Umbria is relived the martyrdom of Christ in the "Via Crucis" with a path to Calvary;
- the Chrism Mass at the Cathedral of San Rufino, Assisi;
- the Scavigliazione (deposition of the Crucifix), Academy fourteenth century. Also at the Cathedral of St. Rufino;
- Holy Hour in Bastia Umbra, at the Church of St. Rocco;
- ancient rite of Rinchinata in Cannock. At the Church of St. Matthew in Cannock, in the province of Perugia, takes place the ancient rite of Rinchinata, re-enactment of Jesus' resurrected with Madonna. 2 churches start two processions, one with the statue of Jesus, the other the Madonna. When the processions meet a few meters from each other are made to bow sculptures;
- Mass and procession of Vespertina Rinchinata in Bastia Umbra;
- the Living Paintings of Città della Pieve. The charming basement of Palazzo Orca, 5 to April 6, 2015 will host the representation, with about 40 participants, of Living Paintings, scenes from the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Christ. The Paintings, 6, will be The Last Supper, The Garden of Gethsemane, The Ecce Homo, The Flagellation, The Pieta on the Dead Christ and The Resurrection. Inspired by the Italian painting tradition of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
- Easter Monday of Assisi.
