Gubbio (PG) and its surroundings, but also some of the Marches's neighboring municipalities, will host, from July 20th to August 6th, 2012, the 2012 Gubbio Summer Festival, an international event of classical music with concerts, workshops, master classes, research grants and related events.
The kermesse, which this year arrives at the 23rd edition, has become a point of reference for students, musicians, fans and countless tourists from all around the world. And it is also an opportunity to admire the beauty of places such as the complex of San Pietro of Gubbio or the Abbey of Sitria in Scheggia.
Protagonists of the concerts will be some teachers of the festival along with invited guests for the event and the best students of the courses, specially selected. Katia Ghighi, violinist and artistic director of the festival, has prepared a bill of exception for the 2012 Gubbio Summer Festival. There will be, just to name some, the Ukrainian violinist Oleksandr Semchuk, the flutist Mario Caroli, Italian-Armenian violinist Sonig Tchakerida, guitarist Robert Salerno, the French pianist Bertrand Giraud.
Gubbio, with his beauty and his desire to deal with different cultures dedicated to classical music, is ready to welcome young people from Japan, Korea, France, USA, Greece, Tunisia, Bosnia, Mexico, England, Germany, Croatia, Brazil, Switzerland, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Russia, making it possible for the brightest pupils to perform during the Gubbio Summer Festival and receive scholarships.
