After the Overture di Primavera, from September 28th to October 7th, 2012 Orvieto, the city of the Rupe, will return to embrace good food linked to the good life, has always been advocated by the Slow Food and Cittaslow culture, thanks to the 13th edition of Orvieto con Gusto (Orvieto with Taste). Conferences, tastings, themed menus, tasting tables of the Roads of Wine and Oil of Umbria and concerts.
The theme of 2012 Orvieto con Gusto is: "L'Arca dei Sapori 2012 - La terra: i frutti del Territorio” (The 2012 Ark of Taste - The land: the fruits of the Territory"). Particular will be the attention on short chain of distribution and its products.
The event will begin Friday, September 28th, 2012 from 17:00 at Palazzo Coelli with the conference: "Tradition, biodiversity, territory. History and the results of the Slow Food Presidiums project". There will be other two conferences, one on celiac disease on October 1st, 2012 at the Palazzo del Gusto and that of October 3rd, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Sala Consiliare of the Comune di Orvieto with the presentation of the guest Cittaslow of this edition, Labastide d'Armagnac (Gascony, France). You can taste the famous wine distillate combined with chocolate on October 4th and 5th, 2012, at 16:30 at the Complex of San Giovanni (Palazzo del Gusto). Cost 20,00 €, reservations required (max 20 people).
Other prestige guest of 2012 Orvieto with Taste will be the Toscano cigar, which can be tasted between Friday 5th and Saturday, October 6th, 2012 combined with rum, grappa and still Armagnac (20,00 €, up to 20 people and reservations). Among other things, Tuscan cigar and Armagnac can be tasted during the appointment of October 6th, 2012 from 20:30 at the Terrace of the Palazzo del Gusto, between music and words "The Precarious and the Professor", by Piero Sidoti Quartet and Giuseppe Battiston. Guido Barlozzetti, RAI, will present "The Toscano cigar and Armagnac". Reservations required € 30,00.
During the 10 days of the event all the restaurants in Orvieto propose the themed menus "Orvieto a Tavola". € 25,00.
And there certainly will be the historic wine and food walk of "A spasso con Gusto". Theme for 2012: "The land: the fruits of the territory". The specialties of Orvieto and of the Cittaslows combined with the best local wines. 4 places where you can taste: Palazzo del Popolo-Sala Expo, Palazzo del Gusto, Istituto Professionale, Chiostro della Biblioteca Luigi Fumi. Saturday 6th and Sunday, October 7th, 2012, from 12:30 to 16:30. € 25,00 per person for the entire route (as gifts glasses and cup holders). Boys 6/12 years € 17,00, children 0/6 free (on reservation).
