Masks and rice in 2011: back the Carnival in Umbria!

From big cities to small towns, the tradition does not change. Here comes a wave of joy with the 2011 Carnival in Umbria...
Boy's Carnival - Sant'Eraclio
Sant'Eraclio from third last Saturday of Carnival, is transformed from a country in the city of Carnival: each year at this time dresses clothes without time nor age!
Sant'Eraclio in 2011 celebrates the 50 th edition of the Carnival of the Children, the oldest of the Carnival's Umbria.
The origins of this festival date back to the sixteenth century, when the streets were filled with floats decorated with flowers and bushes, surrounded by people of all ages intent on singing and dancing...a festival that veniava organized in opposition to the noble feasts which took place in closed buildings.
Appointments with music, masks and have fun for 20 and February 27, March 6 at 3 pm all!
Children's Carnival - Acquasparta
Same dates for carnival events in Acquasparta: the 3 Sundays 20 and February 27 and March 6 and above you expect your children with parades of floats from 14:30 pm!
Carnival Acquasparta is known as the Children's Carnival and is one of the most characteristic of the region.
Throughout the period of Carnival it will be possible to taste typical Umbrian dishes in the tavern (picchiarelli sauce, polenta., Barbecued meat,...)

Carnevalandia
4 will be the floats that will parade unpublished 2011 edition, obviously made with the ancient technique of papier mache in a whirlwind of music and masks, favors and streamers.
But the Carnival in Todi is also sport, dance, floclore.
Many side events such as the famous Rally of Campers, cabaret shows, guided tours.
