Canti e Discanti - Foligno World Festival

Ninth Edition of one of the most important Festivals of the Foligno's summer.

Back from 8 to 28 July 2010 "Canti e Discanti - Foligno World Festival", which always aims to spread and deepen the traditional artistic languages and cultures of the world.
Meeting between different cultures through the contamination of the various forms of artistic expression: extraordinary music which alternates with visual arts, photography, film, science, food and wine and spreads throughout the city: Palazzo Trinci, Piazza del Grano, Fiamenga, Largo Carducci, Basilica di Plestia in Colfiorito.
. Six the sections which is divided the 2010 edition: "Music", "Photo", "Film", "Science," "Kids - Born to the music" and "Food."
The combination of music and science is resolved in the collaboration between Canti e Discanti and the Laboratory of Experimental Sciences of Foligno. Inside the festival in fact, an original show, premiered in Umbria, which provides a meeting between Margherita Hack, known Italian astrophysics and the singer Ginevra Di Marco. Readings and songs, a mix of words and music, on some social issues such as immigration and emigration, new energy, globalization, labor, corruption.
The event is organized by Associazione Culturale Platea,in collaboration with the Region of Umbria, the Province of Perugia, the town of Foligno and Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio of Foligno.
Art direction, with the usual advice of songwriter Massimo Liberatori, is always of Piter Foglietta, son of Vincenzo (never forgotten folk musician-storyteller of Foligno), that since the first edition is devoted to the event.
