UJW #19, 2011/2012 Umbria Jazz Winter

In the city of the Rupe comes the 19th winter edition of Umbria Jazz, Umbria Jazz Winter #19. Will be five days, from morning to evening and from December 28th, 2011 to January 1st, 2012, with music, food, tourism and culture in the historic centre of one of the most beautiful towns of Umbria, Orvieto (TR).

UJW#19 will give much space to latin jazz, not to mention the Italian artists and gospel music. Starring Michel Camilo, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Chano Dominguez, Stan Tracy, The Harlem Jubilee Singers, Paolo Fresu, Fabrizio Bosso, Gianluca Petrella, Danilo Rea, Franco Cerri, Renato Sellani, Peppe Servillo, la Lydian Sound Orchestra, Bobby Broom, Allan Harris, Funk Off and many more.

It starts Wednesday, December 28th, 2011 from 16:00 at the Sala dei 400 of the Palazzo del Popolo with the Berklee/Umbria Jazz Clinics 2011 Award Group. At 19:00 will open the Meeting Point in Palazzo dei Sette: every day from December 29th and from 13:00 bars, snacks, wine and non-stop music. At 21:00, Mancinelli Theatre, Brindisi TRENTODOC with Memorie di Adriano – lyrics by Adriano Celentano Clan. On stage Peppe Servillo, Javier Girotto, Fabrizio Bosso, Furio di Castri, Rita Marcotulli and Mattia Barbieri. Also at 21:00, the restaurant Al San Francesco, Jazz Dinner with The Good Fellas – Gangsters of Swing . The Al San Francesco restaurant will host every day Jazz Lunch and Jazz Dinner, at the table with background music. From midnight, the Sala Expo of the Palazzo del Popolo will host Fabrizio Bosso & Javier Girotto – Latin Mood Sextet "Vamos" with Natalino Mangalavite, Luca Bulgarelli, Lorenzo Tucci and Bruno Marcozz.

It starts again from 11:30 on 29th with the Street Parade in the historical treatment by Funk Off. Until the end of the festival will be open by them every day.

On the night between New Year'Eve, January 31st, 2011 and New Year's Day, January 1st, 2012 many events: Great New Year Dinner at the Al San Francesco restaurant from 21:00 with Stefano Mincone Quintet, The Good Fellas – Gangsters of Swing, Ezra Charles & Texas Blues Band; Great New Year Dinner at the La Penisola restaurant in Baschi (TR) from 21:00 with Nick the Nightfly Two Nice!; at 23:30 from the Sala Expo of Palazzo del Popolo Happy New Year!! with Funk Off on stage; from 00:30 at the Palazzo dei Sette Bobby Broom Deep Blue Organ Trio, to follow Greta's Bakery; from 01:00 at the Teatro Mancinelli Michel Camilo and In A Spanish Tinge with the Lydian Sound Orchestra, special guest Paolo Fresu; always from 01:00, but at the Sala dei 400 "Gospel at its Best" with The Harlem Jubilee Singers, directed by Gregory Hopkins.

On New Year's Day, January 1st, 2012, from 17:00 at the Duomo Mass for Peace & Gospel with The Harlem Jubilee Singers. Closing of the festival with 3 events: at 21:00, Mancinelli Theatre Il Bidone – Tribute to Nino Rota with the Gianluca Petrella 7. Following Crittograph, Paolo Fresu Quintet & Alborada String Quartet, always at 21:00 but at the Al San Francesco closing dinner with Ezra Charles & Texas Blues Band and The Good Fellas - Gangsters of Swing; from 23:30 to the Palazzo dei Sette Nick the Nightfly Two Nice!
