The Venti Ascensionali 2008 festival in Orvieto has events dedicated to reading and poetry, exhibitions and dancing, music, theatre and cinema performances, organized in the Sala del Carmine, Palazzo dei Congressi, Teatro Mancinelli, and also in Palazzo del Gusto, Nuovo Cinema Corso and Galleria ZeroTre.

The aim of the manifestation is to observe the history and the reality throughout the art, in a critic and deep way, and to offer a "stage" to various initiatives and associations that operate in the social and humanitarian sectors, and in the fair trade one.
From the first Venti Ascensionali festival, went on for two weeks between October and November 2001, year after year the number of the performances has been increasing, so that in the 2005 and 2006 edition, to put on all the organised initiatives, the festival went on till January. This "big collection" of several arts, that will have as protagonists emergent artists as well as famous figures in theatre and cinema, is now considered the main event of the cultural life of Orvieto.
To the considerable organising activity, fruit of the work of the councillorships of Cultural Goods, Public Education and Social Services, is added the work of the cultural associations of the Collettivo Teatro Animazione and the Laboratorio Teatro Orvieto, the support given by the Municipal Library and the activity of the Associazione TeMa, the Palazzo del Gusto, the Condotta Slow Food of Orvieto, the Galleria ZeroTre, the Nuovo Cinema Corso, the Camera del lavoro of Orvieto and others.
