Festival Baroque Signs 2008

The Festival Baroque Signs organised since 1981 by the City of Foligno, includes the organisation of concerts, exhibitions, parades in costumes, roundabout of arms, theatrical spectacles and cinematographic exhibitions having as their core theme the "Baroque" and the influences of this artistic movement in the centuries following the 17^th century.

Thanks to a privileged connection between the citizens and the historic memories of the 17^th century, testified also through the other event organised in Foligno (the "Quintana"), around the cultural event of the Festival Baroque Signs, during the years a true laboratory dedicated to the discovery and the valorisation of the baroque culture has been formed. A brief and uncompleted list of the artists who have participated in the various editions of the event up to nowadays can not forget Eugenio Barba, the Plasticiens Volants, Giorgio Albertazzi, Raf Vallone, Pamela Villoresi, Peppe Barra, the "Teatro Tascabile" from Bergamo, Silence Theatre, the Potlach Theatre, Katia Ricciarelli, Antony Rooley, Jordi Savalì, Montserrat Figueras, Franco Battiato, Nil Rogers, Angelo Manzotti, Vadim Brodsky, Les Arts Florissants, I Solisti Aquilani, the Baroque Orchestra Orpheon from Vienna, the Baroque Orchestra of the European Union, the baroque ensemble L'Arpeggiata, the dance company Eclat des Muses, the Transe Express Company and the Theatre of the Tosse.
The city of Foligno will dedicate to the spectacles of the Festival Baroque Signs 2008 the super cinema with several rooms in Corso Cavour, the Church of the Misericordia, the Church of St. Francis, the Court of "Palazzo Trinci" in Piazza della Repubblica, the Auditorium San Domenico, the open spaces of Piazza della Repubblica.
