During the Renaissance period the city of Corciano was benefiting from an intense communitarian, handicraft and commercial activity transforming it into a vital center, flourishing economically and in continuous expansion.

The Corciano Festival is evocating these moments of everyday life in an unchanged environment, in which the citizens are not only appearing actors but true protagonists of an historic performance lived in an intense way and with a profound participation. From the first edition of 1950 the manifestation has been progressively developed, offering painting and sculpture exhibitions, theatre performances, concerts, historic remembrances and conventions on art. Recently has been inserted an international competition of original composition for bands and a competition of poetry dedicated to the city.
During the evenings dedicated to the celebrations it is also possible to taste dishes inspired from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance appositely cooked by famous Italian chef for the Corciano Festival. Dinner is the best moment to admire the work of the city inhabitants, of so many artists, poets, art critics, musicians, who are meeting in August in Corciano. In the bars of the Medieval taverns: "The tavern of the Duke" and "The Inn of the antique Hospital" it is possible to taste meats, vegetables, fishes, cereals worked according to antique recipes and wines produced for the occasion.
