Six great exhibitions take place in six different towns in Umbria, to discover and admire Perugino's work and artistic universe.
The exhibition is the first one entirely dedicated to Perugino. Here you can admire youthful masterpieces and paintings from the roman period. One of the most interesting sections is the one with wich hosts two important recopositions: The precious Chigi's piece which was painted for St. Agostine's church in Siena, and the polyptyc of St Agostine's church in Perugia.
This exhibition hosts many paitings on canvas and wood, drawings and engravings. Undisclosed documents and precious copies will also be presented to tell the story of some work of art stolen during Napoleon era and which still are in France.
Here it takes an exhibition dedicated to the miniature in Umbria at the time of the Perugino. It shows how strong was the influence of the painter even among the miniature painters. The most interesting work of art is St. Sebastian Martyrdom, It is a property of the London British Museum, and exceptionally exposed in Italy for the event. It is the only miniature painting signed by Peugino.
A selection of works shows the evolution of the landscape in Umbrian painting and in particular across the artistic path of the great painter from Cittā della Pieve.
Perugino had a strong influence even in the ceramic productions, expecially in the works of Deruta's masters. The exhibition collects precious umbrian ceramics from the XVth and the XVIth century.
Perugino's artistic productions influenced also sculpture and minor arts. He created a current which is called devotional painting. In St. Francisco's church, in Corciano. Here there is a wide rang of selected works and documents coming from galleries, museums, religious confraternity.
